Those games where on the road too. We now have dome sweet dome. I still would have them play a few series though. Call a few quick outs so Drew doesn't take a hit and ride high in the playoffs.

Agreed - I like the idea of keeping everybody on routine. I'd play the starters, even if just a drive or three, but I do think I'd pull all the starters I could neighborhood of halftime if not before.

Great question. Here's what I'd hope for.

Healthy starters play 1st quarter. Follow the process all week, prepare and play. Pull them after a series or two.

Most starters for 1st series, or about 8-10 plays. That keeps the starters in rhythm. Once Brees gets his 8 yards, call timeout and let him walk off the field to a standing ovation.

Do not even think about dressing Armstead.

After about 10 plays, play all subs available. Definitely bench Brees, Kamara, Ingram, Unger, Ramz, Jordan, Rankins, Lattimore, and a few others that may be nursing some minor injuries and the older guys like Watson, Bushrod, Warford, Ginn etc.

Brees isn’t playing a single snap Sunday.

Re: Saints Sunday inactives pool

Rest as many starters as is statistically possible!

It's that simple!

Brees and his 4000, don't even worry about that! He has nothing to prove to anyone, we all know he's the best QB in the NFL.

Get all the starters as healthy as we can and then let them loose in the playoffs!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Saints Sunday inactives pool

The 09 team was a team of destiny. They didn't let a bye week or resting starters against Carolina in week 17 slow them down. I believe this team has the same destiny. I want to see us as healthy as we can possibly be for the SB run. And the added bonus is that we'll probably still win this game without a lot of key starters. They're signing guys off the street to play QB for this one.
