MVP Logic
If the voters are really objective and base their selection on the criteria historically used in selecting the MVP... there is but one choice.

Re: MVP Logic
Drew hurt himself over the past 4 weeks. Before Dallas it was his, to lose.
He lost it. Sorry. I love Drew, just.... no. |

Re: MVP Logic
The article makes some good points in favor of Drew. I'd like him to get it and I really think he deserves it, especially after being pushed out of it so many times. My guess is, Mahomes will take it though. His numbers are ridiculous...even if he has a poor record against winning teams.
Brees probably had it, but he dropped off so badly for a few weeks before the Pittsburgh game, that it pushed him out. If Brees wins it, he better take the Saints through the playoffs and be the Superbowl MVP. Anything less and people will ***** and complain that he didn't deserve it over Mahomes. |
Re: MVP Logic
Didn't we had a thread about just how much of a SB jinx it it is winning the MVP?

Re: MVP Logic
Here is the thing that annoys me: The rules change when it comes to Drew Brees. Back in 2009 they gave the MVP award to Manning even though Drew had much better stats. "The Colts were having such a great season, and the best player on the best team should win the award. Also, it's Peyton Manning... he's such a good leader... stats don't sum up his contribution.. blah blah blah. "
This year the opposite argument is being used against him. "His stats aren't as good as Mahomes." I'm not saying that Brees should win the MVP award this year. There is no way in ****ing hell he shouldn't have an MVP award though. The media changes the standards on him and he never gets the credit he deserves. |
Re: MVP Logic
Unfortunately, this is a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately league. The last few games are offense has been sluggish which will influence the voters. Not only that if Drew doesn't play against the Panthers then he will be out of sight and out of mind for the voters. Which is ridiculous! However, this is not a Lifetime Achievement Award. It is for the MVP of the season. A lot of folks cannot differentiate between the two.

Re: MVP Logic
Mahomes is talented guy but in 3 separate games when the game was on the line and it fell to Mahones to perform he failed. He was impatient undisciplined and was not able to perform in a clutch situation. No doubt he has the numbers but he has also failed on the national stage in the spotlight. His day will come.
