This is really one of the hardest parts of being a Saints fan, is dealing with the old school negative nancies who feel the sky is constantly about to fall, because they were traumatized in their childhoods by so many really terrible Saints teams. I love those fans, I will never flame them or insult them or get mad at any of those old school Saints fans you see around, who still feel that way -- that something terrible is about to happen to the Saints at any minute. But that spell was broken forever, with the Lombardi in '09.

Really for me the spell was broken with the '06 season after Katrina, there were so many magical signs and signals that year that something truly special was brewing, but FOR REAL there's no denying the spell was broken and the glass was shattered with the Lombardi and/or the Tracy Porter pick of Favre in the NFC Championship game.
