Re: Forecast: Believe! Don't let fear ruin this season
Even I liked that.
I think the reason a lot of people are nervous is because they are looking at how the games have worked out over the course of the season. Yes we are 10-3 but at face value it could be argued that we peaked early. Could be argued that we were at our best with a fully healthy offensive line. Once players started dropping the identity of the team changed. You also have teams that started the regular season looking like **** who are now hitting their stride. Finally you have the old school Saints fans who have been conditioned over the years to believe what can go wrong will go wrong. Especially when it looks like it won’t. We all know what this team is capable of when the offensive line does its job. If they do I would almost guarantee a SB win. I do think the players are motivated. They can’t be 100% happy with the way things have panned out lately either. They will come out with something to prove. We win, healthy offensive line and it’s a blowout. If not I still think we eek out a nail biter. |

I do think that Ginn returning will completely change the offense. If Armstead is healthy, I feel pretty good about us. We'll shut down the pass rush and spread the field. Armstead staying healthy through the entirety of the playoff run is going to be a key factor to us winning the SB.

I just wish we had Kelemente back. I bet he wishes he would have stayed for a ring. How did he do this year as a starter?

Many long time Saints fans of a certain age, have STILL not really adjusted to the new reality we've been living in since '06. I feel for them, I really do. I love those fans, I will never flame them or insult them or get mad at any of those old school Saints fans you see around, who still feel that way -- that something terrible is about to happen to the Saints at any minute. But that spell was broken forever, with the Lombardi in '09. Really for me the spell was broken with the '06 season after Katrina, there were so many magical signs and signals that year that something truly special was brewing, but FOR REAL there's no denying the spell was broken and the glass was shattered with the Lombardi and/or the Tracy Porter pick of Favre in the NFC Championship game. That was a great article though. "If we aren’t going to believe in this Saints team, when exactly are we going to?" |

I'm guilty. I've been kinda tip-toeing around, quietly whispering about any notion of advancing past this round of the playoffs. Partly for fear of jinxing it and partly because I live in Atlanta, and braggadocio now can lead to tremendous backlash later from these walking dead failclown fans.
Thanks for this article. He's right! I'm a believer! Saints will win this one and the next ones! WHODAT!!! Saints 31- Iggs 17 |
