Even I liked that.
I think the reason a lot of people are nervous is because they are looking at how the games have worked out over the course of the season. Yes we are 10-3 but at face value it could be argued that we peaked early. Could be argued that we were at our best with a fully healthy offensive line. Once players started dropping the identity of the team changed. You also have teams that started the regular season looking like **** who are now hitting their stride.
Finally you have the old school Saints fans who have been conditioned over the years to believe what can go wrong will go wrong. Especially when it looks like it won’t.
We all know what this team is capable of when the offensive line does its job. If they do I would almost guarantee a SB win.
I do think the players are motivated. They can’t be 100% happy with the way things have panned out lately either. They will come out with something to prove. We win, healthy offensive line and it’s a blowout. If not I still think we eek out a nail biter.

As Saints fans we have all had to endure the Saints snatching defeat from the jaws of victory; it is an automatic response.

I do think that Ginn returning will completely change the offense. If Armstead is healthy, I feel pretty good about us. We'll shut down the pass rush and spread the field. Armstead staying healthy through the entirety of the playoff run is going to be a key factor to us winning the SB.

would be huge...at the worst bushrod will be back. Not as good as armstead, but he allows Peat to play at guard and is serviceable. Looks, from something I saw online, Peat wasn't wearing any casts or anything so he should be a go. we will have at least 4 of 5, but armistead back healthy would be great

I just wish we had Kelemente back. I bet he wishes he would have stayed for a ring. How did he do this year as a starter?

This is really one of the hardest parts of being a Saints fan, is dealing with the old school negative nancies who feel the sky is constantly about to fall, because they were traumatized in their childhoods by so many really terrible Saints teams. And I understand them PERFECTLY, I really do. There was definitely a long era for the Saints where basically anything that could go wrong, DID, and I was there for all of it.

Many long time Saints fans of a certain age, have STILL not really adjusted to the new reality we've been living in since '06. I feel for them, I really do. I love those fans, I will never flame them or insult them or get mad at any of those old school Saints fans you see around, who still feel that way -- that something terrible is about to happen to the Saints at any minute. But that spell was broken forever, with the Lombardi in '09.

Really for me the spell was broken with the '06 season after Katrina, there were so many magical signs and signals that year that something truly special was brewing, but FOR REAL there's no denying the spell was broken and the glass was shattered with the Lombardi and/or the Tracy Porter pick of Favre in the NFC Championship game.

That was a great article though. "If we aren’t going to believe in this Saints team, when exactly are we going to?"

I'm guilty. I've been kinda tip-toeing around, quietly whispering about any notion of advancing past this round of the playoffs. Partly for fear of jinxing it and partly because I live in Atlanta, and braggadocio now can lead to tremendous backlash later from these walking dead failclown fans.

Thanks for this article. He's right! I'm a believer! Saints will win this one and the next ones! WHODAT!!!

been seeing this a lot on social media. if u pay attention to sports media in general, you probably wouldn't even know we were in the playoffs let alone the #1 seed. yeah, the eagles have a case for revenge. but drew is on a quest. a quest that he now has the defense to help him achieve. could be his last chance at another ring. i doubt the eagles desire to exact revenge for a game they blew is stronger. we know drew will be locked in. but what about the rest of the team? well imagine going home after practice, turning on the tv, and all they're talking about is the friggin eagles.

these guys worked their tails off to get here and now everyone in the media basically has them getting bounced. something tells me sean has someone on staff recording all of these debate show clips. whatever the method, sean will have these guys motivated for this game. i think we blow their doors off. i have to believe. i can't justify the time and emotion i've spent on this team if i don't believe we can beat any team anywhere on any day.

I'm as old school as you can get having moved to Louisiana in the late Spring of 1967 and adopting the Saints as my team immediately. The difference is that I have never felt any negativity about my Saints over all these years. I have always felt that the next game was going to be a win and the next season was going to bring us a Super Bowl. Thinking negative thoughts does absolutely nothing to help my team win. I can only hope that positive vibes may help in some sort of mystical manner.

Iggles may want to watch what happened to the last team the Saints played in the Divisional playoffs in the Superdome!

You're a rare breed and one I admire. I consider myself optimistic but pragmatic so that leaves me seeing both sides but believing we CAN and should win ---- IF we play to our potential.

What I don't bring to 2019 is the shortcomings of 2011 and 2013. This is a new team and a new attitude. Let's go get this win baby
