Tom Benson

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I expected the teams rally cry would be centered around Benson but have oddly heard little about him. I don’t even recall the announcers mention anything during any of the games this year. I do however remember them jerking off ...

I do however remember them jerking off all over Myra Kraft the entire season. Dude needs some respect. Make Benson proud guys.

Re: Tom Benson

So you want a competition over which deceased person gets the most attention? I can't imagine what would have made you think this thread was a good idea.

Re: Tom Benson

Still haven't forgotten Tom Benson tried to move the team to San Antonio during the fog of Post-Katrina...

Then, he couldn't show his face in public (e.g. fan rundown at Saints game at LSU stadium)...

So he used the face of his beautiful granddaughter to soften the hearts of embittered fans, and used her as his proxy...

He later tossed her aside once he no longer needed her despite promising to turn the reigns of the team over to her...

Coincidentally, his body man who protected him in that ugly moment at LSU stadium was later run off by Gayle and later referred to as a "porter"...

So, no, I won't ever celebrate a vain, selfish ***** who allowed himself to be manipulated by a gold-digger and dismissed his family...

There should be a statue commemorating the podium speech of Paul Tagliabue, Rita Leblanc-Benson, with Arnold Fielkow - they were the ones that saved the NFL for us from Benson's shenanigans...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

I never got all the love people gave him for not moving the team. It's like they forgot that he WANTED to move them. And I have to agree on the gold digging comment. The way all that went down, and throwing his own daughter under the bus always seemed like a pretty obvious power grab on the part of Gayle.

But my general sense has been that most people sided with Tom and Gayle, and considered Rita some kind of greedy, jealous daughter. And I have no idea where that information comes from. The whole thing just smelled, to me.

Maybe more people see it this way than I realize, but it sure seems Tom and Gayle get their butts kissed a lot.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I do think Gayle took that old man for his money and made sure Rita wasn’t going to get her cut. She will move the team. She will sell out to the highest bidder.

This is 100% correct and there's even more behind the scenes. If it were left to Tom Benson, we wouldn't have the Saints and it was A LOT closer than most people realize. The people slobbering all over him now forget the history of what he tried to do.
