this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Any sensible Iggles fan has to know it's going to be a tough game... I just don't see them being able to keep up with our offense....

Going on the road and the playoffs and winning is tough. It takes a dominant d and really good run game. Eagles cannot run the ball. Good luck. |

BTW save the great d stats over the last few weeks. You played the skins with Mark Sanchez and Josh Johnson..tough. I'd like to see their stats when you remove those two games

Re: Saints vs Eagles Playoff Game Day Thread
Wow this is started early today. I will say this. There are some parallels between the Eagles and the 94-95 Houston Rockets. Coming off a championship, they struggled during the regular season but also managed to sneak into the playoffs as a 6th seed. You probably remember the Rudy Tomjanovich "never underestimated the heart of a champion" quote when they repeated. I have to admit, the Eagles seem to have a little bit of this same magic about them with Foles at the helm.
That is why we need to take the Eagles seriously today, and forcibly remove that magic from them. A lot of these playoff games have a big element of the unexpected about them - Vinatieri missing easy field goal/extra point or the Rams shutting down Zeke and the Cowboys running game. I sense this game will also have a big surprise that makes all analysis useless. Let's just hope that it's one that works in our favor! |

Well I did some math in my handy dandy Excel.
6 games following saints game the eagles defense average allowing 19.5 ppg and 347ypg Remove the two skins games with QB's off the street and their defense allowed: 26ppg and 439ypg You be the judge |
