What teams are really in position to take on that kind of a cap hit during the season? I would bet a couple at best.

Whatever team picks him up (I'm starting to think a trade won't happen - though I'd love to see Simon in Black and Gold) will have to sign him to a long term deal, and not the value of our Franchize tender, I'd think.
The only people who are going to pay him 7.8 mil (not including signing bonus which are pro-rated over the contract) to play for them this year is our FO. |

if our FO could pull a Simon for Howard deal I would take back everything i said about them....almost everything i.e. Fatboy Sully!!
