Andrus Peat had surgery on broken hand after regular season
Saints offensive lineman Andrus Peat didn’t have one of his best games yesterday.
There may have been a reason for it. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Peat had suffered a broken hand in the regular season finale against the Panthers, and had surgery during the bye week before the playoffs. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...egular-season/ |

Re: Andrus Peat had surgery on broken hand after regular season
I played 4 games as a LT with a broken hand back in 2008. It hurts like something I can't describe when you try to hit a DL with a broken hand. makes it mighty tough to block.

Gotta wonder... Is a one-handed Peat better than Cameron Tom?

Re: Andrus Peat had surgery on broken hand after regular season
I did not even see the cast on Peat's hand until I watched the TV replay on Monday. It was very obvious on the TV camerars but I couldn't see it from the terrace. But that actually explains a lot. It's a really difficult and unenviable position to be in -- do you continue to play hurt at a lower level, or does Payton make changes in the O line and go with the unknown by changing the line around to something different at this late date? My gut tells me we have to roll with what we got, all hands on deck, literally. Peat had a bad game, for sure, but I'm not gonna throw him under the bus for it, not right now -- dude is obviously playing through a serious injury right now. Hope he gets better.
