2019 NFL free agency: Mark Ingram hopes to re-sign with Saints
This should come as no surprise, but New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram would like to remain with the team that made him a professional. Ingram spoke about his intentions for the 2019 free agency period with Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune.
“I was drafted here. I met my wife here. My children were born here,” Ingram began, “Very rarely does anybody get to spend their career in one place. I love New Orleans. I love this team. I love this organization, so we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. I hope we win a Super Bowl and hopefully everything works out.” |
"A Veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I have always thought that Ingram will remain a Saint. I expect that to happen ... as opposed to a friend of ours here that is determined that Ingram will be gone.

It’s a 100% no-brainer. Ingram is a huge piece of the team’s heart and soul. You don’t get rid of a guy like Ingram and expect to keep the same culture.

I think Payton learned from his (admitted) mistakes of years past. Getting rid of locker room leaders doomed us post 2009. Ingram will remain a Saint (I hope).

I hope he stays too. I don't see any reason why a reasonable deal couldn't be worked out. The way that he and Kamara feed off each other is something very rare and special in the league these days. I'm sure the FO realizes this as well, so it only makes sense that they would work hard to retain him. From Mark's end, I think he's a smart guy and he seems to also be a very team first kinda guy. As long as he gets an offer that's fair I don't feel like he'll be looking to break the bank. I could be dead wrong about that, but that's the impression I get.

I was dreading breaking up our RB tandem. Now we just have to find some $$$ to sign him.
