Refs

Someone has to start it.
Multiple blatant helmet to helmets
DB puts Ginn in bear hug.
Horrible roughing the passer on Drew. I haven’t seen one that bad in a while . I’ve NEVER seen one near that bad not get called.
Helmet hit on TLL should have been an ejection.
We made mistakes but played well enough to win.
Did I miss anything.

Re: Refs

We did not lose.

The Rams did not win.

That was cheating, plain and simple.

Re: Refs

Tough loss...

Refs definitely cost the game for us... but I’m disappointed Payton didn’t rip them more after the game, he should be talking about this for the next 2 weeks.

Shame from Drew, think it’s time for him to retire.

Don't know why Brees didn't take the sack. Lofting a ****ing wounded duck up high in OT to go to the super bowl.

As soon as Ingram lost 6 yards I knew we were in trouble.

The last no-call is making rounds on the news. I'm waiting for someone to put together a compilation video of all the no-calls. Hopefully someone will have it up by tonight.

Re: Refs

That call was so bad, that if it happened to the Falcons I'd have felt bad for their fan base. The whole thing is a stain on the NFL.

neugey 01-20-2019 06:03 PM

Re: Refs

I think NFL needs to take a tip from the NBA and stop the game and use instant replay to review targeting and helmet to helmet and also the roughing the passer to make a collective decision on whether it is egregious or not. Clearly the NFL refs just aren't good at making the calls in the real time, they have been all over the board all year. Compare that to the NBA where by and large they come together and get the call right. Yeah delaying the game further sucks but if NFL is serious about player safety we need to go there.

hitta 01-20-2019 06:12 PM

Re: Refs

The worst thing about the PI no call was that the ref was standing right there. I normally think when people call something rigged they are just trying to make excuses, but I really think this game was rigged. How do you not call that when it's literally right in front of your face?

Rsanders24 01-20-2019 06:18 PM

Re: Refs

That ref should be fired...period...no discussion...no excuse...

saintfan 01-20-2019 06:19 PM

Re: Refs

What happened was a conspiracy to get LA in the big game. There should be an investigation. Not even kidding. That fix was too blatant. It's time this nonsense in professional sports is stopped.

Syntho 01-20-2019 06:20 PM

Re: Refs

Guys... does that last no-call also look like a bit of helmet to helmet?

Yes

Re: Refs

NFL is admitting that it was an indeed PI. Ref is saying he hasn’t seen the play - cop out. And Mcveigh is saying he didn’t see anything wrong with the play.

I hope the rams get beat down in bowl.

foreverfan 01-20-2019 06:43 PM

Re: Refs

POST ALL OF THE NAMES OF THE REFS... AND MAIL BOXES OF SHlT TO ALL OF THEM EVERY WEEK FOR A YEAR!

The NFC Championship game was Refereed this year by Deep State & Fake News. This is why you can't challenge certain plays so they can possibly control the game outcome.

I said it all week we'd have to beat the refs more than Los Angeles.

The ref that made the non-call obviously didn't see the play....when it happened. If he did then his is admitting he's part of a fix.

Payton would pass a fart on goodell he would be suspended he knew he couldn’t go off on officiating the fine is already in process on a lot of players already I’m sure

Because it would have doomed the rams with no time for a shot at a tie it had to be a no call fix

I am not pessimistic.
I am not negative.
I had hoped Saints would win.
I thought they could pull out another ugly W.
Lose the SB, fine.
I thought they would lose to KCC or NEPats.
Brees, retire or take lesser role in playing time next year.
I really acted him to get to SB again to top off an amazing career and he USA decent human being.
I saw the segment hat guys who caught passes from him get a commrative game ball and personal letter. How cool is that!
I really wanted these young guys who worked and made it happen this year to get to that SB. Kamara, Lutz, etc.

Having a season like The did this year is one team’s don’t get to repeat.

The call , lack of call was just so obvlious. A blatant ummm , “error.”

See article on Coach Sean getting call after game from NFL and they said they made a mistake. Oppsy.
SeanP is on that committee so he will be able to make an imprint on new OT rules in championship game.

Sometimes teams, Saints too, get an iffy call in their favor.
Usually this does not happen for the Saints that much, it seems.

This was an in your face, obvious, non debateable, ignored call.

Saints should have not let the game get to that point and Tom OT.

I blame Saints for not seals no more he game earlier and refs for not making that call..

These refs need to spend practice time together for conditioning and eye exams! Most of these guys are older. Maybe we need a referee youth movement where the NFL can train these referees to get the call right.

I referee rugby matches and we are human.....but missing two calls on the same play is inexcusable!

No...SEVEN officials missing two calls is inexcusable. Every one of those officials has a flag tucked in his belt, and any one of the seven could have thrown a flag on either of the penalties. That, to me, is 14 missed calls. THAT is inexcusable.

For those asking for names and addresses of the Referees involved in the most egregious officiating gaffe in NFL history, here they are

CONTENT REMOVED

(notice anything fishy about those 3 addresses)

Cavaletto is SJ 60 in the video
Turner is DJ 13
Vinovich was head official who claims he hasn't yet watched the play

Please don't send these guys death threats cause after all it's just a game, but maybe thousands of strongly worded letters over the next year can make these clowns feel as ****ty as we are all feeling today.

Two refs that live in L.A. were allowed to officiate a game from their home market. Inexcusable. That one of them was less than ten feet from this play should make any reasonable person suspicious.

For me, part of the aging process is realizing when I am powerless. The whole "God give me the serenity ..." thing. This is one of those situations. It's not worth wasting the cost of a stamp.

This

It was a blatant no call
The line ref was even stood down

Headquarters had their matchup and the Saints didn't play well enough to beat both the Rams and the league headquarters

Re: Refs

Now that I've watched the supposed face mask penalty several times, I'm convinced that it is a borderline play at best. I heard all last week how we got the benefit of the doubt on that call, and somehow it evened things out. In my view this isn't a facemask penalty, but it is very subjective. The hand lets go of the face mask a moment after it is grabbed. I don't even think the grab is what caused the helmet to turn, but the force of the arm and hand going against the helmet. I think more officials would not call that then actually call it.

The potential face mask was one of the borderline calls they weren't making all game. That was consistent with how they were calling the game. But you can't not throw a flag on the play that threw the game. What I haven't heard anyone else say is that not only were there multiple penalties on the play, but also BOTH penalties should have been assessed because one of them was a personal foul. That would have left the ball at the one-and-a-half yard line, first and goal.

3rd? For me, the tone was "set" by the refs in the 1st quarter after Josh H was concussed. That clown corner Robey was all over the field making bad play after bad play however no PI's penalty or helmet to helmet flags.

Agree. It was clear the game would be played with more than normal contact. In the end it will likely go down as one of the worst officiated games of the season.

saintsfan1976 01-29-2019 10:25 AM

Re: Refs

I want to be clear. IMO, The game was officiated unfairly and in favor of the Rams. People can argue we had chances and I agree we did not do enough but in the end a magnifying glass must be placed on the league and it’s extreme failure to “get it right”.

This article sums up just how many “human errors” affected a CHAMPIONSHIP game.

Re: Refs

This could be a bit off base however remember when ...

REMOVED - personal identifiable information was removed.

Yet in a NFCCG & a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, the League allows 4 referees are from the surrounding & or/greater South Los Angeles area officiate this game? Why weren't these guys assigned to the KC/Patriots game? How does the league allow this? This will go down as the worst non call in SPORTS history.

IMO, it's just a bad look for the "shield". It stinks.
