NFL’s worst nightmare unfolds in New Orleans
With the Rams stealing the NFC championship in overtime from the Saints, the league office will be under siege for the inexplicable non-call at the end of regulation that kept the Saints from running the clock down to the final seconds and winning the game with a walk-off field goal.

Rams will lose to the Patriots in another Super Bowl!
|
Re: NFL’s worst nightmare unfolds in New Orleans
If that happened to Tom Brady it would be a nightmare for the NFL. But we all know the Pats get that call every time. There's a reason why no small-market team has ever won multiple Super Bowls. And they never will. The only reason they let the Saints win their first Super Bowl was because of Katrina. This is why Chris Paul and Anthony Davis will never stay in New Orleans. I'm done with all sports on TV. They're all rigged.

Would be nice if someone could post the name of the ref that “missed” the call, we should make him famous.

Re: NFL’s worst nightmare unfolds in New Orleans
I just wish that Payton had grown a pair in the post game interviews and called it like it was. Don't know if the game was really rigged....but the Saints were robbed, regardless. This Super Bowl needs to have an asterisk in the record book with a footnote saying that the Saints were the actual NFC champs but the refs gave the game to the Rams.

Packers are exempt from the small-market rule because of their heritage and the championship trophy name. |

I actually think Payton did a good job - he chose his words well, said multiple times "they" told him it was indeed a missed call. He remained composed and kept putting it back on the league since it was their own admitted mistake. |

Exactly! Why come unglued? The game was over and him coming unglued and yelling still wouldn’t have changed anything...

Tomorrow I want the sports talk guys to be all over the non-call and what a load of crap it was. Need to keep the greater public on our side. Payton going ballistic only gives our haters oxygen. |

When owners like Author Blank lead a committee to give Goodell a 5 year extension worth 40 to 50 million dollars, the result is what everyone saw tonight. Goodell's refs, Goodell's rules, and those are selectively enforced. Congrats to the Rams for hanging in and winning. The biggest loser today wasn't the Saints, rather the NFL which is losing fans and viewership in droves all because of Roger Goodell and his sorry azz god complex, sorry azz rules and sad officiating. |

Anybody still doubting that the fix was in? This was blatant.

Re: NFL’s worst nightmare unfolds in New Orleans
Coming at this from another angle, you have to know that if this happened in an NCAA game, it unequivocally would have been called targeting, 1st down and Robey-Coleman ejected.
We can't go on like this where the NCAA officiating is substantially better than the NFL's. Yeah I know NFL speed is faster, but still. |

They should give us the first pick in the draft AND force them Rams to surrender to us THEIR 1st round pick.
And if you're watching, the league is desperately trying to give KC the win too. They just got away with a blatant pick play that went uncalled, and there have been some phantom PI calls going their way too. This is sad. I love football. I am very sad right now. Roger has ruined the game. |

Re: NFL’s worst nightmare unfolds in New Orleans
Nope, not gonna, sorry. I didn't have to dig hard to find it, which means anyone can. I've just cut out some of the leg work. I don't advocate violence against the man, but calling him up and writing him to tell him about what an ******* he is, that's something I can get behind.
Like I said, you do the wrong thing, you suffer the consequences. |
Re: NFL’s worst nightmare unfolds in New Orleans
Folks the ref is just a symptom of the disease - disease being Roger Goodell
Until the worst commissioner in the history of professional sports is FIRED the Nutless Fixed League will remain a scripted pseudo-WWE sports league that will decline in viewership. We’re all sick of the Brady fix Roger. |

Re: NFL’s worst nightmare unfolds in New Orleans
That PI/Helmet to helmet hit was not the only outrageous non call in the game.
I’ve never seen a player put a lick on a QB 3 seconds after the ball was thrown and not get called. Ever. Ginn was bear hugged by a DB while the ball was in the air on a sure catch on 3rd down. They knew the refs weren’t going to call anything so they just did whatever they wanted. It was cheating plane and simple. Cam says he had 3 sacks on Geoff he eased back on because they were sure penalties. The Rams knew they were gonna get away with it |

I have a friend that flat out hates the Saints. I got a text from him after the non-call. He said that play will go down in history as the worst non-call in the history of the NFL.
