These plays has no impact on the game because we still lost. |

Very sad to hear, Halo. My thoughts are with you and your family. I lost my mom to cancer in the 90's. |

Halo my Saints brother I’m so sorry to hear about your Mom. I pray things will turn around for her...
I’ve been absentee around here MOST of the season because of a similar path. In March 18 my mom had a stroke, and another in late July. My stepdad has been so great about taking care of her. Early November 18 my stepdad called to say he was in the hospital - lost feeling in his legs. Scans found he had a massive tumor pressing on his spine from lung cancer and he was told “6 months”. Football is just a game. None of us will lose our homes or health (hopefully!) over this loss. But this loss still hurts DEEP I have a mom and stepdad - both with a grim prognosis - who loved to watch the Saints and found so much joy in this season. To see this season come to and end - not because we LOST - but because we were SCREWED was heartbreaking. The NFL can admit it was wrong but what does that do for my mom and stepdad? What if there is no “next year” for them? SO UNFAIR to steal this from the Saints and their fans... |

I really wasn't trying to pull ya'll's heart-strings. Although I was composed when my mom broke down and cried, I'm having a hard time keeping my composure now that I'm home knowing that she pushed herself week after week to live just to have the company of her family over at their house to watch the Saints - and the Saints kept her going. She kept repeating Drew Brees' name..."but Drew Bress..." We don't realize that for so many people here in New Orleans - the sick, the dying, the poor, the downtrodden - Drew Brees and the entire Saints organization and players are a very special part of life and our culture. I really think my mom would have loved to see the Saints win another SuperBowl on a high note. I think watching her upset about the loss breaks my heart more than the loss itself. |

Halo, Honestly praying for you and your family. The game sucked, it is a painful way to lose, but it is still just entertainment for us, the fans. Real first world problems. Everyday folks such as your Mom and your family are dealing with harsher realities. Go to Haiti sometime for a visit, kinda brings everything into perspective. Now back to the crappy officiating and no-calls. The ref squad was pretty bad. I am a Hurricanes fan and a 2003 National Championship game was decided on a PI call. It scarred me so bad I still remember the refs name, Terry Porter. 4 seconds...one thousand one, one thousand two and so on. I have always said you shouldn't allow a game to be so close that a call decides it, but last night, if no-call was called, it was game over. |
Re: NFL.com posts article admitting Bill Vinovich's officiating crew blew PI call
The non call made the front page of the New York Times. A football club from New Orleans, LA does not do that unless it is blatantly obvious. I also notice it is not remotely a top story at NFL.com. Just sayin...

Halo. Stay strong. I'm a survivor and my only memories from that year were the Saints games. I know how she feels. I'm sending you good vibes my friend.
