The NFL is broken and it starts with Goodell. Too much authority falls to one man. |

Gary Cavaletto, the referee who didn't throw a flag on the infamous no-call benefiting the Rams, lives about 100 miles from Los Angeles. The other official near the play, Patrick Turner, is described as a resident of a Los Angeles suburb. Back judge Todd Prukop is from a community just south of L.A. |

Re: It wasn't our year
I was going to start a thread about my feeling about this game but this is as good as any place to vent.
I am still mad as hell about the non-call, but after a day to think about the game my fury is now directed 100% at Sean Payton. I lay this loss 100% at his feet; the game should never have come down to that non-call. When Ginn made the catch that had the Saints in the redzone the score was tied, there was under 2:00 minutes and the lambs had a single time out. SP had to get cute. He should have called 3 straight runs; hell I would have been thrilled if he had the Saints in a victory formation. There was 1:45 on the clock, kneel or hand the ball to Ingram or Kimara; lambs burn their final timeout. Do the same thing on 2nd down and clock doesn't quit running until the Saints are ready to kick the GW FG. Lambs have maybe 30 seconds to get in FG range without any timeouts. To quote Forrest Gump,"That's all I have to say about that." |

Regardless, his plan would have worked had the refs not be in the can for the league to get LA to the big game. |

Re: It wasn't our year
It was a perfect storm of us not holding the lead and tightening up while the Rams gained momentum. The Rams going quick and doing hurry up changed the feel of the game. Suh, Donald and Fowler also started dominating our o-line in the second half both against the run and the pass. The pass to Ginn to get us in that position was a prayer. The Rams completely turned the tables and we, frankly at times, choked. It was a split between Brees, Payton's calling and just everything.
In spite of all that, Robey-Coleman committed an infraction that would have given us checkmate and allowed us to narrowly escape. But the refs moved their chess piece and the rest is history. |

Re: It wasn't our year
It’s just sad and disappointing this team will be in the playoff history books 2 years in a row. MT said it best, all the hard work the players put in, only to go out like that.

Re: It wasn't our year
We went 13-3. We made it to the last round of the playoffs with the only other team that’s 13-3. We led that other 13-3 team until the very end. We did not lose that game. What more do you want? Do you expect us to ride a 20 point lead all game every game? You people got spoiled. We have accomplished more with much less personnel wise.
