Marcus Williams should have blindsided Stefon Diggs
I am posting because I am surprised nobody has mentioned this. Last year, our season ended because our defensive back missed a tackle pulling up to avoid a PI and personal foul. With how our season ended this year, that was apparently a mistake. Williams should have come in early and led with the helmet while Diggs was still defenseless. The refs would likely have overlooked it since New Orleans is in some ways a higher profile team, it was late in the game, and Williams is from Southern California like many refs. Diggs might have left on a stretcher with a neck brace, but he would have had trouble completing the catch, and then the Saints win. We own Foles, so we would go to the Super Bowl, and it was not the Patriots year. Then this year, we would have been defending champs, so that makes it harder to screw us on calls.
If only we were an organization that did not care about player safety, and others did, we could have two rings. This is a league where cheaters prosper, intentional fouls are rewarded, and trying to avoid a foul is a mistake. |

1. We wouldn't have gotten away with it.
2. Two wrongs don't make a right. |

In a weird way, I bet Marcus is kinda relieved that he is no longer the focus of mishaps.

Lattimore isn't what he was last year, Rankins is much better & same could be said for David O & V Bell. I've seen Williams out of position playing single high safety. That is almost identical to how J Byrd played while in NO. I would have liked to see Dennis Allen allow him to roam like he did during his rookie season with another safety up top while trying to cover an entire field (only 2 safeties in the league can do this) which isn't a strength of his. A lot of this is Dennis Allen's scheme more than anything. |

The refs would have flagged him before the thought had fully formed in his head
