Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency

I just think Mr. Cook will be out of the Saints price range in Free Agency. I'm quite certain a few teams will throw crazy cash in his direction.

I'd still prefer Jesse James. Dude knows how to create separation to keep the chains moving + he's only 24 years of age.

Funny you mentioned that...

Baltimore just essentially paid Nick Boyle $6mil/annum which effectively blows the Tight End Free Agent Market Up, despite a deep Tight End draft...

Best case for the Saints, sign Jesse James to ~$8.5 - $9 mil/annum...

Then spend a fifth on TE Kahale Warring if you really aren't happy with our current schedule of tight ends...

Personally, I wouldn't sweat it as much as some going into the season with Josh Hill, Dan Arnold, and Garret Griffin; but James is an elite blocker at tight end so that's why I think he's worth the valuable cap space...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

For a blocking TE? But then again, the Ravens do run the ball a lot.

But still JP ... 6M for Nick? Wow. Good for him though.

But yea, your're 100% on this blowing up the market for TE free agents.

Maybe I didn't word it as clearly as I should have, so allow me to make another run; first, I believe we already have three receiving tight ends that can get it done, with essentially two first year guys returning...

What James adds is ability to both catch & block; if we're gonna spend valuable, limited cap space on TE, which I think is already solid, at least we're adding an elite blocker coming from strong running PIT offense...

If Ingram's people comes at the Saints FO with crazy numbers, I'd give a fifth back to Chicago for Jordan Howard and with him extended to a cap-friendly contract...

Emotions aside, I really, really hope the Saints front office brass can find a way to keep Mark in New Orleans.

Other than sending a fifth rounder for Jordan Howard, I really don't care for any of the FA RBs this year aside from Ingram - and we have very few darts for the draft board to replace Ingram...
