Re: Rams' lackluster Super Bowl* performance has to leave Saints, fans wondering 'what if'
I don't think we would've beat the Pats Sunday night, but I know for sure that Brees puts more than 3 points on the board. It would've been a much more exciting game.
The reason I don't believe we would've beat them is because of how badly our offense struggled for the final month of the season and in the playoffs. Brees wouldn't have played as bad as Goff though. Goff played so badly, the Pats defense looked like the 1985 Bears. As bad as some of the flukey SB losers were, those teams put more points up than the Rams did Sunday night. My greatest fear would be seeing New England take away MT and Kamara, just like we had seen happening for the final month of the season. Dallas showed that if you take those two away, we struggled to move the ball without them. Bill B most definitely would've took them away from us. I think if we had a healthy Sheldon Rankins, perhaps we could repeat the Rams performance of holding NE to 13 points, but I think we really missed him after he went down. |
