LOL... he does catch the ball fairly incredibly but he only runs a 4.65 40. Still, he is a very interesting potential player down the road.

That’s a pretty good possibility. I like his long-term potential.

So Lil'Jordan Humphrey, at his size, is as fast as Jerry Rice was...

When looking at 40 times, you really have to skew size and other factors...

His seam routes will inevitably involve YAC, yards after contact, but at his size, not very corner, or even safety, is going to be effective in tackling him...

I don’t know what to do about back-up OT. Michael Ola is no good. I don’t think we have the back-up on the roster yet.

Yeah, and if history of the team under Payton tells us anything, they'll be several roster moves in the first two weeks of the season...

Backup OT wasn't a concern last year because Peat would kick out as he'd always done; but, in light of his conditioning and probably lack of full recovery, there may be a need for it...

Then again, it might also help Will Clapp's case as he can play effectively at all three interior spots as well as RT in a pinch...

That’s the thing with Peat... They kept him at LG a lot and sent in Bushrod last year to play LT. If Peat doesn’t have that versatility anymore then I don’t know what we’re holding onto him for at $9.6 mil.

Was there another option at that price on the market?

Norwell would've been the only upgrade, but he signed for significantly more than that...

And I didn't get that either with Bushrod as he did very well in Miami as a LG, guess the wanted continuity for Peat and didn't kick him out when Mr. Glass took holiday...

Re: 2019 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

Man, the more I look at our receiving optons, it comes down to this question:

What four of five to keep among Keith Kirkwood, Dan Arnold, Cyril Grayson, Austin Carr, and Emmanuel Butler...

  • Keith Kirkwood has the best hands I've seen on the team and given his development as a WR didn't begin till the NFL, that's a lot of talent there...

  • Dan Arnold has developed well, even if it wasn't a new postion, despite fans' obsession of two plays; am more concerned he's plateaued adding bulk to be an effective, all-around TE...
But I really like having four (4) TEs...
  • Left Cyril Grayson off the roster, but he has rare speed; then Ted Ginn is 34yo; and Grayson's a legit RS threat himself; so few burners at WR; yeah, I'm rethinking leaving him off my projected roster...

  • Austin Carr has reliable hands and disciplined routes; has spent a lot of time in our offense; concerned with letting that walk-off...

  • Don't know enough about Emmanuel Butler's injury to know if he'll be fragile; but he sure looks like every bit of Marques Colston; may need to cement his job Week four...
