Started a 2019 Depth Chart so that we can see the "needs/holes" the team has and look to where we might expect further moves (e.g. free agents, trades, draft pick)...

Shared with Chris, especially for those who haven't learned to code*, you can quote the post, delete the bracketed code before and ending the quote and update a roster change (e.g. player, number, status)...

Know there other sites (e.g. Our Lads, ESPN, CBS Sports) that have depth charts, but we try to be a little quicker and more accurate/relative to our team than the national talking heads...

Anyways, I enjoy doing it and hope others would feel free as it's for all here...

*PS I actually started to refresh my HTML and other markup code skills here on this site...

Great job jp! I can't wait for the update for a new O-lineman or two. I like Clapp and Tom but not enough to trust them to protect Drew. We have a good run game when our o-line is healthy.....the thing is we never play the same five from game to game.

It was obvious we needed better depth towards the end of the season. We have invested heavily in the O-line recently and it has paid off big dividends....don't stop now. :bng:

From your lips to the Payton-Mickster's ears!!! Know we've interviewed with at least one, and I'm told a couple of others...

Talked to a couple "professional-types" around the team, and they tell me Clapp just needs to get functionally stronger, discipline his technique. He's about a year or two away from Strief's skill-set...

Tom has good size, but also needs to get a lot stronger and break some bad technique habits...

But it's Armstead's availability, pain-tolerance I don't trust. And Peat needs to fully recoup and be allowed to play one position, or be traded and/or extended to get his cap number down...

We really need another two veterans on this offensive line - I like G Ted Karras (RFA NE), Matt Feiler (ERFA PIT) and I'd part with a Day 3 pick for the latter...

OurLads.com is probably one of the better ones I've seen - but they're not as timely with the Saints as they are with the bigger market (pretty much everyone) than the Saints...

We need depth in the secondary. Ken Crawley could be picked up and Patrick Robinson recovery. LQQKin at the draft to fill some holes

Cher, Easton hasn't been healthy in two seasons and at his best level of play, he has been a top-form Senio Kelemete, a championship team sixth-man...

I'd like to see us sign RFA C/G Matt Skura from Baltimore - kind of get 'em back for overpaying Ingram, taking away a career-long player for us...

Also, I'd read that Meredith's deal last year was essentially a one year deal; check OTC cap numbers and understand his contract now...

On paper, that's a robust defensive front. I expect much of the same (#1 ranking vs run) in 2019 ... low probability of teams having consistent success running the football on the Saints.

And if his name sounds familiar, he was a big reason why San Fran beat us in OT in the playoffs a few years ago...

Sounds crazy, but an agent I'd spoke with in past cleared it up; actually, it was talk a contract for OG pay where he told me, nobody pays OGs, except Saints, but they pay LTs, so OL pays avg is better optics...

Basically we've signed Brown as Davison's replacement - Brown is an expensive, slight upgrade to Davison. But Onyemata, who actually had a better PFF grade, replaces Rankins, Edwards is backup...

Terrible draft for CBs, not that there aren't a few NCB prospects - Abundantly deep draft for Wide Receivers, Tight Ends and Defensive Ends...

Without Unger, this group looks problematic, or worse, mediocre; though I like our reserves at C, RG, and RT that we're developing,

Armstead, Easton, and now Peat have great durability concerns and poor injury history these past three years; worse, Warford regressed into back to Low-energy Larry last year...

As for corner back, I'd like PJ Williams back. After a rough start, he finished strong & will likely come cheap.

Agreed. Everyone focuses on Tackles and Guards but the Center is the foundation of the O-Line and his R/L gaps are the shortest path to the QB... More than any other want, this need should be addressed deliberately.
