In a surprising move, New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl center Max Unger has decided to retire.
The 32-year-old Unger spent the last four seasons with New Orleans after coming over from the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Jimmy Graham trade. He was an ironman in that time with the Saints, playing 63 of 64 possible regular season games, playing more than 96 percent of the offensive snaps in each of those seasons. Unger made his first Pro Bowl as a member of the Saints last season, his 10th NFL season, while playing 96.4 percent of the offensive snaps. He made two Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team as a member of the Seahawks. Unger turns 33 next month. NOLA Uh oh... We have a big problem now. Last edited by SmashMouth; 03-16-2019 at 06:24 PM.. |

Re: Max Unger Retires
I would say I guess we know where we’re going with our 2nd round pick now but they won’t trust a rookie center.
If he retired a week ago we could have at least signed his replacement in FA. Now I guess it’s Cameron Tom or Will Clapp. |

Re: Max Unger Retires
I am looking at FA centers. Stefen Wisniewski, John Sullivan. Wisniewski is probably best option.

Re: Max Unger Retires
I’m guessing this is why we had Nick Easton in for a free agent visit a couple days ago. He has experience at all 3 interior O-Line spots.
