Actually Major, NE has attempted to get into a bidding war, but Cook claims he's committed to the Saints...

Unless a team jumps, expect either the Saints or the Patriots to try and take TE Jace Sternberger by the end of the second round...

Cook may well be a smoke screen, or more specifically, a transition piece for draft intentions...

Cook isn't the one holding things up. Loomis has some juggling to do to clear space for Cook and all the other deals, as well as any others yet to be mentioned. The contracts have probably already been signed, but the Saints are waiting to submit them to the league when the finances are in order.
