New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees’ lawsuit against a San Diego jeweler can move forward to trial, a California judge ordered Monday (April 29), according to court documents.
Brees and his wife, Brittany, appeared at Superior Court in San Diego county last Friday as Judge Kenneth J. Medel determined there was sufficient evidence to send the lawsuit to trial in a dispute regarding the value of investment diamonds. Medel submitted a tentative ruling Friday, and that ruling turned into an order Monday afternoon. The Breeses filed a lawsuit in April 2018 seeking more than $9 million in damages as they accused Vahid Moradi of CJ Charles Jewelers of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. Medel ruled, “Triable issues exist as to all causes of action related to essential claims by plaintiff as to whether ‘investment advice’ was given and, assuming liability, the valuation of the jewelry at issue," according to the order. Both parties last Friday hoped the judge would make a summary judgment without having the case sent to trial, but it remains on track for a civil jury trial beginning May 31. The Breeses claim Moradi sold them multiple pieces of jewelry for about $15 million, but upon appraisal, they learned the items were worth $9 million less than they paid. more on NOLA |

I find it amusing that these types of investments are touted to be the way to go once the Zombie Apocalypse happens. All other forms of currency will be worthless!! I've heard it over and over. Why then do the keepers of this most valuable asset sell it for...................You got it!! Worthless currency?
Head on down to what used to be McDonald's and plop down a few diamonds, bars of silver, gold coins for a Big Mac and some Happy Meals! |

Some of those rings looked like hot garbage. I would of never paid that kind of money for that. Also, he made a bad deal it happens to the best of us but i would of gotten an outside appraiser to get a second opinion when dealing with that kind of money.
