Who will step up along side Michael Thomas?

The New Orleans Saints wide receivers were largely inconsistent in 2018 beyond Michael Thomas. Thomas has firmly established himself as a top 5 wide receiver in the NFL, but the Saints couldn’t get much of anything out of Ted Ginn Jr. (missed part of the season due to injury), Cam Meredith (placed on IR), Keith Kirkwood (inconsistent), Austin Carr (inconsistent), Tre’Quan Smith (inconsistent), and Tommylee Lewis (lol).

The Saints declined to add any wide receivers via traditional free agency or the 2019 NFL Draft, but they did add a couple of intriguing UDFAs - the only problem is, part of the reason Carr and Kirkwood struggled with consistently in 2018 was largely due what made them go undrafted as well.

Did Ginn lose $10,000 yet?

I have to admit I’m a little worried we didn’t do enough this offseason to fix the WR issue.

It's my biggest concern. Non-call or not, lack of depth at WR position was what doomed us last year.
Barry from MS and dizzle88 like this.

Smith should step in & take it. He flashed some last year as a rookie. 2nd year in the system and an off-season to get stronger should give him the edge on anyone on this list.

We may not have a clear number two receiver. But if everyone else is on the same page then Drew will find the open receiver. We've got a true TE and I'm sure we will have a true slot receiver to go along with Ginn taking the top off. I am not worried about the WR group. I feel like we must have talent in the building already...….hopefully.
