The college name brought back nostalgia.

For me, this fine institution will always be called "USL" in my mind

. Same goes for NLU aka ULM up in Monroe.

Yeah, the re-branding was a covert attempt to pull all the universities under one LSU umbrella, eliminate intra-state competition...
