Was not a big fan of this pick (DT Harrison Phillips, OT Alex Cappa were still on the board); but the more I watched, the more I liked the pick...

And if for no other reason than through sheer will of fandomness, we need this pick to blossom for Brees to lead us to another Lombardi Gras...

It was probably because Phillips and Cappa were not as high on their draft board. As a matter of fact, I'll guarantee you that they weren't.

Hopefully 3quan had a good off season of training & focus.

He must improve off the line (explosion) like #13 does & limit those drops. I guy of size and arm length gotta make the difficult catch in small NFL windows.

Absorb what you see Thomas does in practice and continue to study. X factor in year 2 --> Coach Curtis Johnson.

A wise NFL coach once said ... "A coach wouldn't throw you to the wolves if he didn't think you had some wolf in you"

We would've been in the SB if just ANYONE would've stepped up at the #2 position.

Smith was just a rookie last year, so I hope this year he improves greatly.

One small concern Foreverfan ...

Receivers won't be Big 12 defense "wide open"

. If you have no separation and/or burst off the line ... forget it.

Ask Tre, Carr, Arnold and Kirkwood.

Like the running back skills! Big receiver hard to tackle. But if he’s on roster maybe carry one Less running back. He and Taysom could split 3rd string running back duties.
