Fantasy #1 Pick
With the new 5 yd. interference rule last year, QB's put up monster numbers. I know most people say to take a running back in the first round of a fantasy league, but, I'm going to take Peyton or Culpepper if they are there. Who would you take first, RB or QB?

Before Peyton's ridiculous touchdown year, it was the smartest move to take a running back first. Now if you think he can maintain at the level he showed us last year, he definately has to be the number 1 pick. One thing you should be aware of though is that last year was the first year he threw for more than 30 touchdowns since the year 2000. If he regresses, you'll probably regret not taking a Tomlinson, Holmes, Alexander, or Deuce first.

Everyone in my league laughed at me last year. I had the last pick in the first round, and picked Peyton. Also picked Reggie Wayne and Brandon Stokley later rounds. He was throwing 5 TDs a game, usually Wayne and Stokley were getting 1-2 of those each. Needless to say I repeated as league champion.
(I also ended up trading for Deuce. They laughed at me when I picked Curtis Martin as my first RB, moooooooooohahahahahaha) |

How can someone laugh at you with picking Peyton with the last pick in the first round? That's pretty much a steal. In a 10-12 team league, most of the STUD runningbacks are usually taken. The latter picks in the first round usually consists of the Curtis Martin's, Culpeppers, Mannings, McNabbs, etc. You did a good job. I drafted Curtis Martin the 3rd round last year. What a great pick!

I was going to take Peyton or Culpepper but I drafter 7th and they were both already gone, So I drafted McNabb and then Brooks as my backup. He is either going to have a monster year or be on the bench in 2006.

I personally think the TE's benefitted most from the new rule. It's hard not to be more physical with these guys. It seemed like the linebackers were catching this call a lot.

I would take LT from San Diego as the first pick -- Peyton second -- I cannot believe Peyton will put up the same numbers -- he will be close but LT as a running back is a safe pick
