Ex-Wyoming, Saints DE Granderson out of jail
Former Wyoming and current Saints defensive end Carl Granderson has been released from jail in a sexual battery case after a judge found that the sentencing judge improperly called his therapist before handing down the sentence.
Hang on now.... The kid may have been wrongly adjudicated

Here is why I always hesitate to judge people unless I have all the facts.

When I was In high school my girlfriend was two months younger than me. One day she’s passing notes to a friend in class sharing some dirty details and the teacher catches her. Turns out her teacher is good friends with her dad so she turns it over to him. Of course dad flips out and forbids us to see each other. We keep dating anyway and on my birthday he calls MY dad and says he’s going to have me arrested for statutory rape. It really scared the hell out of us and I was about to lawyer up but the guy must have realized the can of worms he was going to open up and forgot about the whole thing.
This was a mutual, long term, healthy relationship between consenting teens with an age difference of just 2 months.
It could have ruined my life if this guy would have gone ahead and filed charges just because he didn’t like his daughter dating.

I know nothing about this guys story but if he’s allowed back on the team and repays his debt I’m fine with it. If it happens again not so much.

I hope the young man leads a productive and happy life. But, if I had a say or choice in the matter, he wouldn't be a Saint.

Based on your circumstances, you wouldn't have been prosecuted. The case would've been dropped and probably never even crossed the prosecutor's desk.

Sorry I have less faith in people that have a criminal past. Especially in the NFL. Not saying people can't change or get wrongly accused, but the NFL tends to exacerbate negative behavior.

I'd put my money on letting him walk rather than the media mess that comes with him if he stays.

I just wanna know, did he molest them or not. If he did, I don't want him near the Saints. If he didn't we're good to go.

Re: Report: Saints player (Granderson) sentenced to jail after plea rejected in 2018 alleged sexual assaults

The New Orleans Saints on Saturday established their initial 53-player roster for the 2019 regular season and one move caught attention.

Rookie defensive end Carl Granderson, who was released from jail by a Wyoming district judge on Aug. 26, was reinstated with an Exempt/Commissioner Permission designation. He will not count against the Saints' active roster.

The move allows a two-week window for the Saints to decide what to do with Granderson, who was originally set to serve a six-month jail sentence for alleged sexual assault. The sentence prompted the Saints to place Granderson on the Reserve/Did Not Report list before the start of training camp.
