Re: Barry Hirstius: Saints 2019 Training Camp: Day 1 Observations and a Few Thoughts on the Micheal Thomas Hold-Out
Who cares... He does he really need to start sweating yet? Let him have a couple of weeks off.

Nice info there about Emmanuel Butler and Rishard Matthews. It makes me start to think... I’ve heard really good stuff about Butler, Matthews and Simmie Cobbs, but a real lack of Tre’Quan Smith updates through the offseason work so far.

Re: Barry Hirstius: Saints 2019 Training Camp: Day 1 Observations and a Few Thoughts on the Micheal Thomas Hold-Out
I was thinking earlier that the plus side of Thomas holding out is it gives the coaches time to do some much needed talent evaluation at WR. Hope these players take advantage of the opportunity.
Looks like we may be better off at WR than most people gave us credit for. You never know what’s going on behind the scenes. Part of this could be Mrs Benson posturing. She brand new FEMALE owner in a mans league dealing with her first major contract. It’s a chance for her to show the rest of the league, owners, coaches and players that she refuses to be a pushover. This deal is going to help define her as an owner. It may not even be about the money. It’s not a knock on Mrs Benson, I think it would be a wise move for her as a business owner to play it that way. I would. Thomas isn’t going anywhere, they all know that. |

Cobbs looked good yesterday. Me & my brother said his name a few times. Matthews, too, but wearing Colston's old number irritates me.
CGJ looks every bit as talented as advertised, too. His athleticism stood out yesterday. During drills he made everything look effortless...and he is fast. |

I know it's only Day 2 without full gear but media/coaches have mentioned the names of Cobbs and Emmanuel Butler more than others. One of these guys could help us move the chains and win games in 2019.
Keep an eye on these two for sure. |
