Re: Barry Hirstius: 5 Undrafted Saints Rookies That Need to Stand Out vs. Vikings to Earn a Roster Spot
Kinda hoping Gustin, Biegel could step up their game and put the pressure on the front office to allow us to move an older LBer in trade like Klein (imagine that - how deep we've become at LBer)...
Really would like to see us acquire another guard (e.g. Buffalo's Wyatt Teller, Detroit's Joe Dahl) as Smash's witness of Peat's poor conditioning at the Saints practice at Tulane Sunday evening is troubling... |

Everyone I've talked to that's seen first witness the punt return unit in practice has told me Marcus Sherels has stood out from the others thus far...

Sherels has the experience advantage. Was hoping someone else would make waves...meh. He's fine but kinda know what you get with him which is won't screw up in a game lower probability.

What I like most on Marcus Sherels is the way he can field a punt, make a decision quickly and gain positive yardage. He's about as sure handed as they come. According to stats, he avg 10.5 yards per return which equates to one less first down our offense has to get. HUUUUGE in terms of special teams and for this high flying offense.
I'd be surprised if anyone beats him out at camp. |
