It certainly we had a lot of guys go to Reserve/Injured instead of being cut these past two days...

Crawley hanging around to commit more pass interference and holding than anyone else...

I know I'm not seeing much of camp this year and the preseason games are limited but the cuts of Ozigbo, Humphrey, and Butler make no sense. I'm not seeing what happened with their turns at camp at with the 1s but these cuts make little sense.

Humphrey is only good at seam routes and slants from the slot. We have TE’s for that.

Not really. We haven’t had reliable seam routes since Graham and Colston.

The only surprise cut I’m happy about is Banjo.

I didn't get a lot of the cuts last year...dont get some of them this year. But locker room culture can explain some of them I'm betting. I really really really liked Ozigbo, but could be playbook or attitude probs. Butler I see amazing potential, but those drops were just bad in preseason games no less. Humphries looked good but he will not separate vs real NFL corners. Against 2/3/4 string secondaries, sure. Carr is still a head scratcher, but maybe they're seeing a jump for his 3rd yr.

Who knows...I just live here.

We struggled at WR last year so we dump a bunch of potentially better players for the same ones? Don’t get it.

Brees made a point to stress how much he trusted Carr in a press conference a week or so back. I’m betting a lot of the receiver decisions were strongly swayed by him. If Brees likes them then I guess we have to.

I wouldn’t mind Coleman back. We could use his skills as a blocker. I always liked him.

Kurt Coleman. He is a safety.

You are speaking of Brandon who is out of the league.

We still have a great receiving corp compared to majority of teams. Falcons probably have one of the best. Kamara can run the whole route tree then with MT and Ginnn, there is not much work left. I doubt anyone else gets over 45 targets.

Oh yea, my bad. Still though. I was hoping we would bring him back last year when we got hit with injuries.
I just have a feeling we missed out on a good receiver who will play a long time.

Cutting Ozigbo is short sighted. He would have been the #2 next year and cheap with an upside. Plus, if Kamara or Murray gets nicked, as all RB's do, the Saints have nothing. I would be shocked if the Dolphins don't sign him, Butler and maybe Humphrey. Putting Rankins on the 53 when he could have been left on PUP for the first six weeks is even worse. He's not going to play in the first six weeks Hampton did nothing in preseason. Would have easily made the PS. Wes Horton?

I agree mostly to what you say but the one good thing they done was keep Saquon. My fingers were crossed that they didn't try to slide him to the practice squad

We’ll find out soon. Three hours until we can sign players to the practice squad.

I’d also like to point out that in order for players to be eligible to return from IR they had to make the 53 man roster first. It’ll be interesting to see if anybody goes on IR today (Robertson, Hampton, etc).

It does appear that way but with our line, down field blocking... just about any ok RB is going to have some success. We made Tim Hightower look magical almost the whole season.

Think he gets on the PS or gets plucked from us. He looked better than Boston Scott I know that much and BS stuck around the league until recently.

5. Buccaneers
6. Giants
7. Jaguars

Re: NFL, Saints Cuts

I get the love for ozigbo but it wasn’t that much of a surprise cut. Washington was better at many aspects, knows the playbook and is a good special teams player. Rodgers also looked better running the ball than ozigbo. I liked his potential but he is a guy that should make it to the PS. What I didn’t like is how bad he looked when taking contact, he wasn’t the power back that’s falling forward and getting tough yards, he was getting blown up by hits from 2nd string guys... doesn’t he weigh 230?

Maybe it’s cause I rarely watched a game into the 4th quarter, but Ozigbo didn’t drop my jaw like a GMC tailgate.

Somebody help me

He does fall forward a lot. It's his way of getting another couple of yards since he doesn't have the ability to break it. Washington isn't sexy either but, he is a better athlete and has proven experience. Totally with Payton on this one.

Yea the more I think about it I think we get stuck in that “route for the underdog” mentality and forget that camp beasts aren’t as smart of a bet as seasoned veterans. For all we know some of these young guys could **** their pants when the lights go on.
We also need to remember that they play against equal or inferior talent during pre season.
Hated to see Butler go the most but it is what it is. Really wanted to see him on the field with the first team. Wish we would have kept a 3 rd TE though.

You can argue Washington I wouldn't say it's definitive. But you're crazy if you Rodgers ran better than Ozigbo

It appears as though Emmanuel Butler and Lil’Jordan Humphrey went unclaimed... which is odd because all I heard was there was zero chance of that happening. Now on to the practice squad signings.

I didn't think either would go unclaimed. Didn't think Butler would get cut either. My thinker is off I reckon.

I'll take either these 2 for PS. Both preferably.
