Dez Eyes October

The New Orleans Saints brought in more than a dozen candidates, but failed to find a convincing number-two option to pair with All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas on the starting offense. The doors not yet shut on a potential combination with former Dallas Cowboys superstar Dez Bryant, who briefly signed up with the Saints last year on a near-minimum salary before going down with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Bryant recently spoke with Jane Slater of NFL Network about his lengthy recovery from that injury, and his expectations for the 2019 season. Bryant still feels he can contribute and is confident about his health moving forwards.

Im way better than I was before I went to the Saints last year, Bryant said in an interview with Slater. Mid-October is when Im going to be trying to get back in the league.

Bryant has said earlier this summer that while teams have reached out to gauge his interest, he wont sign with anyone until his body and mind are ready to take on the toll of an NFL season. Hes also said that hed like to give the Saints an opportunity to sign him before anyone else, having enjoyed his brief experience in their locker room and feeling he owed them for taking a chance on him in the first place.

Re: Dez Eyes October

I'm in the minority but I hope the Saints give Dez a call when he's completely healthy. He's a vet with experience and could be very helpful to all those young WR's. This man wants to help a team win more than anything else.

And that "Dez is a locker room cancer" stuff is b.s. Remember they said the same thing about Eli Apple before the trade and he's been nothing but a team player in New Orleans.

Well I'm with you. I was genuinely excited about bringing him in last year and I'm hoping the team will give it another go when he's ready.

Our LR culture is strong for sure but Im not sure hes that much better or worth the risk anymore than some of the guys on PS. He is talented but being out of the league for so long and coming off that injury is
Lots of young receivers and if he does try to pull his BS theres some impressionable kids on the team. I was all for it last year.

I guarantee hed ball out with the Saints. Our red zone offense would be unstoppable with Dez, Mike, Cook, and Kamara.
