Re: After difficult decisions, Saints coach Sean Payton discusses 53-man roster
We might see Ozigbo again in week 6 if Fournette goes down. He's a lot better than their other rookie RB. Better agility and catching ability. Probably see him regardless spelling Fournette. It's so difficult to find a pass catching RB. Should have found a way to keep him but...meh.
At least we didn't waste a draft pick on him which is probably what the Jags did with Armstead. If Murray doesn't deliver though it's going to be rough finding a half decent replacement. I don't even want to bring up the other possibility. |

Re: After difficult decisions, Saints coach Sean Payton discusses 53-man roster
We kept six CBs and five safeties - while good arguments could be made on all of them, including Crawley who had the highest PFF grade in the PreSeason for what that's worth, we kept one too many at that group...
Ozigbo showed me more in the short time he was here than even Ingram did his rookie year when Ingram would lower his head and ram into the back of the offensive line... While I'm still a fan of Dan Arnold, Grayson, Butler, and Humphrey, this cut seems to be the most questionable of the roster trimmings - and at least three teams put in for waivers for Ozigbo along with the Jaguars... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Just another case of our roster cuts being the most sought after players that we brought in and couldn't keep. Our talent evaluation is tops in the league. Thanks to Jeff Ireland

Man, isn't that a major change from just a few years ago when our 1st round draft picks rarely started and were cut within two or three years.
