Re: USA Today/Saints Wire: Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott contract tees up Alvin Kamara for $100M payday
Average per year and overall price of an NFL contract is meaningless. Only the fully guaranteed amount and the years included in the guarantee are relevant. That and the cap will likely be pushing $275-$285 million in five years, so who cares how the money is dispersed. According to the CBA the money HAS to be spent on the players and that percentage going to the players will most likely increase as part of the 2021 CBA as a trade off for a 17 game regular season schedule.

Agent skill plays a big part in those ground breaking contracts.
Looks like he has been able to get to the cusp, Kamara's contract might bring him the spotlight. |

I have a feeling that it really won’t matter when the new CBA is done in a year with the cap increasing significantly. The players union is also going to be pushing for guaranteed money so if that happens the contracts will come down in amounts as a compromise. Our key contract are coming up at a good time due to the new CBA.

Thankfully, the Saints will get to see if he can handle the #1 RB role before writing the checks. On a side note, it's his body and money, but Gordon is in my opinion making a mistake for not playing for the $10 million the Chargers offered. He won't get that or more from anyone else. I'm going to get that money and decide next year what it's worth to me. $10 million will soften whatever landing.
