Re: Another season begins!
I'm just not feeling this season yet; I haven't gotten over last year's loss and I'm not referring to the blown call.
You cannot make three trips into the redzone and come away with only 13 points against a team like the Rams and expect to win. Also, if Brees' pass to MT is 6" higher he walks in for a TD. But I will have the TV and the computer on and be here on the best fansite on the planet Monday night. Geaux Saints! |

Re: Another season begins!
Last years loss to the Ram's was tough, the kind that sticks with a man for ever, the kind a man wants to bury deep down and just let fester... never speaking of it in public again.
Never, ever, again.:) |

Re: Another season begins!
Echoing the sentiments of several here...
Last year's utter screw job has left me empty and convinced the NFL - at least the Roger Goodell version - is scripted just like the WWE. 2009 was magical. 2011 PT gets hit on a questionable head-head and we almost overcome multiple 1st half turnovers to win. We WOULD have won the superbowl that year in a fair league - no doubts. COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA Part 1 2017 We fight back to take lead on Viqueens only to lose on a boneheaded play that looked like someone got a funds transfer from a bookie during the timeout. I think we squeak past Philly on a FG and then win Superbowl #3. COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA Part 2 2018 BLATANT, OBSCENELY OBVIOUS FIXED GAME. Nothing else be said other than the 2018 Patriots could not hold our teams jocks. Superbowl win #4. COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA Part 3 Let's face it guys, when 2019 ends, we'll be adding another chapter to this legacy. The 2019 Saints will win 10-13 games, go DEEP in the playoffs, and be utterly screwed out of ANOTHER championship AGAIN by the NFL and its version of "sports entertainment". We're not a favorite of the most incompetent and arrogant excuse for a sport commissioner in the history of American sports. In fact I'd say he loathes our team. NOLA is not a top 10 market in terms of spending power. And Louisiana - my native state - is nothing more than flyover country to the coastal elites of this so-called sports league. Until this jackass is fired and banned from football we will stay under his thumb. So where does this rant leave me a fan of 40+ years? It leaves me a fan of the Saints who'll drop by occasionally to talk to you great folks and celebrate our team winning (when we are ALLOWED to win). But even that is a bit tainted because it will feel like someone let my guy win the title for this week - knowing that the league heel will steal it away next week... Past that I don't plan to follow the National Fixed League, watch ANY game that the Saints are not playing in, will NOT purchase any of its merchandise or otherwise give a damn about its ever increasingly inferior product. LAST YEAR WAS INEXCUSABLE, AND I'M MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE... |
Re: Another season begins!
Jags just lost Foles for a long time.
Do you look to trade Bridgewater? I'm really not sure he is the future and will want a biggish deal either way. With the cap hit coming when Brees steps away and Kamara, Lattimore and Ramczyk we will need that money and a Rookie QB opens up a lot of space |

As I've said many times before, if the Saints get rid of TB then Hill stops being the Swiss Army Knife and starts being the clipholder. As Guido pointed out elsewhere, after the next CBA gets done, the salary cap will likely be well over $200 million. There will be plenty of money to pay everyone the Saints want to keep. Finally Brees has been structuring his contracts such that there will be little or no dead money on the books when he retires. SFIAH |
