New Orleans Saints

On September 5, 2016, Lutz signed with the New Orleans Saints.[16]
John Harbaugh recommended him to Payton.

Harbaugh already had a kicker but brought him in for competition. When we played and practiced with them in preseason Harbaugh told Payton he should sign him.iirc He was basically a gift!

Re: Big Nutz Lutz!!!!

Julio is no Hopkins or AB. He's an old man who has lost a couple steps. Ridley shored him up this week. Should have never paid him. Big mistake on them.

BIG WIN! Kamara & Brees & Thomas getting it done with major input from everyone. Huge CLUTCH kick by Lutz! (I gotta say though - am still not an Eli Apple fan - he misses too many tackles). GEAUX SAINTS

I almost forgot about the coffin kick. Morstead put a big grin on my face with that one. Just nasty.

Oh the funny part of this is that it wasn't Payton who say saw something in him it was none other than Ravens Coach John Harbough.

There is a story - lets call it legend now.

Saints were practice or Pre-season game and vs each other and Payton mention his kicker troubles and Harbough told Sean that I have 2 kickers... I am going to have to cut one don't know which yet but you should get him once we cut him.
