Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread

Time for revenge!
After a rousing victory over the Houston Texans to start the 2019 season, the New Orleans Saints are traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Rams at LA Memorial Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. The Week 2 matchup is the first meeting between the two teams since the infamous "no-call" during the NFC Conference Championship that helped the Rams advance to Super Bowl LIII. https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.town...ze=1700%2C1173 Get important game day information, including how to watch or stream the game and who to follow for live updates, below. HOW TO WATCH — New Orleans: WVUE-TV (Fox 8) — Baton Rouge: WGMB-TV (Fox 44) — Lafayette: KADN-TV (Fox 15) STREAMING — NFL Game Pass — Fox Sports Go RADIO — WWL 870 AM/105.3 FM (New Orleans) — WDGL 98.1 FM (Baton Rouge) — KMDL 97.3 FM (Lafayette) EXPERT PREDICTIONS Herbie Teope | Saints 27, Rams 24 The odds makers give a slight home-field advantage edge to the Rams in this showdown, but this is a game the Saints will want against a quality opponent. Forget about a revenge narrative because Sunday afternoon is about two Super Bowl-caliber teams squaring off for early NFC domination. Amie Just | Saints 26, Rams 23 These two teams have the talent and the depth to make respective Super Bowl pushes again this season. Neither the Saints nor the Rams have forgotten about the NFC Championship game, but it's not stoking the fire in this matchup. This is all about two talented teams squaring up yet again. Rod Walker | Rams 24, Saints 23 Don't be surprised if these two teams see each other again in the postseason. And a Super Bowl trip could be at stake again. But that's a few months down the road. This one should be close again, much like the overtime NFC championship game. With the Saints playing on a short week and having to make the long trip across the country, oh-so-slight edge to the home team. |

Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
DT Sheldon Rankins (Achilles) is out for the Saints. There aren’t any other players on their injury report.
The Rams are in even better shape as they didn’t give out any injury designations this week. |

On a more personal note, during the live chat I'm always a part of - I'm going to make a big effort to not be so pessimistic or negative. I always tell myself it shouldn't affect me, but when we start to play poorly, the overly passionate and overly critical side comes out. Heres to a great game, I hope we drop 50 on them quite honestly. |

If it ramps up the noise about that BS no call, and the League Office's ineptitude and questioning their motives, actions - that's just lagniappe ... Deal such a terrific coup de grâce, they don't recover mentally... |

Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
Onyemata returning. Gurley did not practice all week. That is not a good sign for them.
|
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
And if refs try that double penalty no call again.

Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
We absolutely MUST get pressure in Goff’s face. I expect more of the NASCAR package with Hendrickson at DT and lots of DE stunts.
|
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
Who's most likely to be covered by Robey-Coleman today? I hope they eat his lunch. And oh yeah, Talib, we heard what you said, you don't get off that easily either. I hope Michael Thomas makes you look like a chump.
On another note: anyone have suggestions on a good dip or something for the game? |
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
Saints D has to play better against the run. Gurley or not, Rams can not hang 140 yards on the ground like Texans did w/ backup RB's
|
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
I would love to see is beat them up one side and down the other
|
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread

They will. We are getting our starting DT back. There will be less of the NASCAR package. I doubt Gurley even takes it inside. The odds of him getting hurt are extremely high. |
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
Jared Cook is a Rams killer. He was insane last year against them.
They can't double every one. Keep an eye on that. |
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread

The guys up front must get there and disrupt plays. Once you do that, Goff is a different QB (see Bears games). Pass defense must be better as well. Gotta find a way to get our D off the field on 3rd and long. Let's get it :bng: |

Jay Glazer just said Sean Payton signed a 5-year contract extension.

Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
On offense, Andrus Peat vs Aaron Donald - biggest match-up the Saints have to win today...
On defense, fresh Onyemata and Malcolm Brown must get in Goff's face, collapsing their front line of Notebloom-Allen-Blythe... |

Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
Wow, don't tell Indy/TN fans the Colts@Titans isn't as hot as Saints@Rams...
|
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
Gap discipline and pressure. We need both today.
|
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread

If Onye and Malcolm can collapse that line back about two yards, as good as Whitworth and Havenstein are, they'll get called for more holding trying to maintain deeper blocking arcs vs our ends... Davenport physically is better suited in this matchup than Hendrickson, unless we can run some creative out and under stunts for him to use his speed... |
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
Wow, Vince Biegel just sacked Tom Brady...
|
Re: Saints @ Rams Game Day Thread
The Nick Easton inactive. Don't see him here next year. Can save around 4ml cutting him.

My wife and daughter are both at work so I am without a car and no joke, I am about ready to leave the house and walk 4 miles to the nearest sports bar with DirecTV. I know where I stand but the question for all of you is are you all ready to sacrifice for the Who Dat nation?!
