It's time to promote Butler and/or Jordan Humphrey to the active roster
It appears Kirkwood can't stay healthy & Carr is going to be inactive a lot this season, it wouldn't be surprise to see the Saints promote one if not both of the rookie WR's to active 53 man roster. Hopefully Tre's ankle (got rolled on during a nice catch and run) is ok.

I could see it. They aren't precise route runners but without Brees the precision takes a back seat to nasty. Get those big boys out there and commit to run blocking and mugging DB's.

Idk why those two didn't make the team from the get go. Was never high on kirkwood and for damn sure on carr. Give teddy some taller targets to throw to.

Brees will be inactive. Carr will be active. #11 will get in on some plays on offense. But, I would have no problem pulling the plug on Kirkwood. Humphrey made some plays in preseason.

I know neither butler or humphrey has separation speed for deep passes but all they gotta do is find a soft spot in the coverage and that ten yards might turn into more since they are physical and have a wider catch radius. Carr has no initiative seems to me and them boys want to prove themselves. Idk how he gets a free pass on the roster for doing nothing. Is he blowing someone high up in the organization?

Well, our back QB's have their timing down with the back up wide receivers....

NFL receivers are thrown open, often the ball is released prior to a receiver's break in the route tree... We run a system where Brees throws to buckets based on pre-snap reads and coverage... These young receivers have to learn to see their pre-snap read, with a poker face/no-tells, and run to where the QB is going to throw... So they do need to run routes as precisely no matter who's the quarterback so they can earn that Passer's and the Coach Payton's Trust... They just need the reps to speed up their process, conversely slowing the game down so they can just focus on completing the reception... |

What I saw yesterday is a QB failing to get the ball out on time. A QB that wasn’t very accurate. Yeah, there were a lot of drops. But come on, those guys had to be frustrated when their running routes waiting and patting for the ball to be delivered.

Bridgewater would do well with Humphrey running those short/intermediate routes in the middle of the field.
