“I put a ton (of pressure) on myself and I played absolutely like a dog the first half of the season. I played terrible. When the players went down (to injuries), my first reaction was I’ve got to make plays or I’ve got to do this, Delhomme said.
Wow. This is exactly why fans prefer Delhomme to Brooks. Delhomme played BETTER football last season than AB, but he nonetheless shoulders much of the blame for the team's bad start - which were mostly due to injuries. Compare that to "I'm a great QB on an inconsistent team" along with the fact that Delhomme is a hometown boy, plays better ball, won more playoff games and made more super bowl appearances in his first year as a starter than any Saints QB EVER, and finally, add in the fact that he could have been the Saints' starter, and it isn't hard to understand why people still smart over his loss and bash Haslett and Brooks.
