can martin beat smith's all time rushing record

after 10 seasons he is only about 597 yards away from smiths at the same time. with a much worse team. can he do it over the next 4 years? he would have to rush for 1172 yards for the next 4 seasons or just stay on well past his prime to make sure he gets the record. but that wouldn't be fair oh wait that is what smith did.

Definitely possible, if the Jets don't bring in a young back to groom for the future. They definitely seem to think he still has gas in the tank since they let LaMont go.

On a latter note, C-Mart was the first RB I drafted in Fantasy last year, and he was a hoss for me all season.

CM has been the most consistant RB for a while now.

Not flashy. Or outspoken. He just gets the job done week after week. The Jets did let Jordan go. I don't think it was for no reason.

I am pulling for him. It broke my heart when Smith "stole" the record.

I would rather Martin have it. He will have "earned" the record instead of a guy who was very good but ran behind the best line in NFL history for most of his career (Smith). If someone has to have the record let him earn it. "Sweetness" ran behind a poo line for most of his career and earned the record.

He finally got a ring only because the D-coordinator (Buddy Ryan) shocked the league with an innovative and hugely talented D. Their head coach was M. Ditka who was crap.

Good Luck to Curtis Martin.

Oh, Smith was a Gator and a Cowboy. Reason enough to dislike him as far as I'm concerned.

I'm no one.
Who are you?
