Observations from Saints' win over Seahawks

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; "Check down" Teddy doesn't screw it up for the Saints. Game ball to the Defense, Special Teams, and Kamara. 12th man was never a factor today. Win shows the Saints are more well rounded than many realized. Who Dat !...

Re: Observations from Saints' win over Seahawks

Well, like I said in the game thread...

1. We gave up 500 yards of offense.
2. Wilson dropped back 50 times and we didn’t sack him once.
3. We have nothing behind Kamara at RB.
4. Through three games, Jared Cook is averaging 1.6 catch/23 yards/0 TD’s per game.

Demario Davis was really good today. Directly responsible for the stops on 4th down runs.

He gets my game ball on defense.

Re: Observations from Saints' win over Seahawks

I think the good points are easy for all to see today... So the bad:

1. Pass coverage in zone defense is still a huge issue. We continue to play zone and continue to give up the easy pass. A lot of garbage yards at the end of the game but it didn't look good.

2. AJ Klein is awful against the pass and shouldn't be on the field.

3. Play calling to start the game was bad. We need to rely on the running game. Looked like we figured that out in the 2nd half.

4. Teddy is what we expected. He isn't good, he is below average, if everyone around him plays great we have a shot. If we get behind in games we have no shot with Teddy at QB.

5. Jared Cook sucks. Not only does he suck but he looks uninterested. Taysom Hill is a better TE.

The Saints are 0-42 when running the ball less than 15 times in a game.

Anyone other than Russell at QB today and we get 3+ sacks.

I think Bridgewater made some big strides today. He stopped trying to do too much and just started getting the ball to his playmakers. This was in a very hostile environment too... Brees has had some stinkers in Seattle.
