Stephone Anthony back with Saints

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; 112 tackles | 1 sack | 2 FF | 1 FR | 1 INT Stephone Anthony in his rookie season. It looks good, but he didn’t grade out well at all. I’m thinking it was probably because of poor coverage. ...

Stephone Anthony in his rookie season. It looks good, but he didn’t grade out well at all. I’m thinking it was probably because of poor coverage. He’s got elite speed and athleticism at the position to run sideline to sideline and make tackles. Put him in on rushing down with Demario Davis and let them wreak havoc. Better yet, blitz him and Davis on passing downs. The speed up the middle would be ridiculous. He can be useful.

I do remember he was excellent as a blitzer

If the Saints ever need Anthony to slide in and play alongside Demario Davis ... we're screwed. It's always been the mental part of the game that Stephone can't handle.

Special teams
signing for depth and that is where it ends.

I think we should utilize that speed in specialized roles where he doesn’t have to think. Put him in and blitz him. Let him use that athleticism and get him off the field. People do it with offense all the time and with situational pass rusher. He can be a situational blitzer and he’s not too bad at stuffing the run.

Honestly, if the Saints are bringing back former LB's I'd rather see Kikaha return. He showed flashes of brilliance but injuries always took him out.

He was too slow. Injuries made him even slower.
