Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
Check Down Teddy managed the game well once more.
DEFENSE! Game ball to the entire defense. And Special teams. Cook caught one. Still need down the field speed. We're remarkably 3 - 1, even though we have the toughest schedule in the league, AND Brees is injured. Saints find a way to win in a clutch game and stick it to the CowGirls! |
Re: Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
Our D and Mr. Lutz deserve this huge win......Who ****ing Dat.....oh and we need another WR...

That might have been the best run defense that we've played since the 90's. Zeke never had a significant run all night, never even once got to break out his spoon and eat. He's going to bed hungry!

Re: Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
How I thought this game would go to.
I mean you play to stop and run and make Dak pass, you think it will do it with his only threat being Amari who Lattimore locked down? Hell no. Cowboys team is old style, its built how teams were built ages ago when those type of teams were able to do decent. |
Re: Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
Guess the talking heads up my way at Deathstar nation slept on Marshon Lattimore. He basically blanketed Amari Cooper for four quarters. Made him a non factor. Latt played great.
Getting it done up in Seattle and now Dallas without Brees. Confidence building. |
Re: Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
I observed that Al Michaels and Collinsworth are horrible...even worse than I remember. Those guys are *******s.

Re: Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
Quick Hits...
We're 3-1, 3 AND Freaking 1, with a one game lead in the division after only having Brees for less than a game and half on a total F*ck you schedule complements of Kommissar Goodell... Even if you count the sack against Ramczyk (Warford missed the exchange on a slant stunt), Ram has faced Watt, Brockers, Clowney, Lawrence and given up one sack - ONE! None of our FA signings are helping at this point; Brown has played as well as Davison; Terry Fontenot needs to geaux; we made one trade, Kiko Alonso who can play MIKE; rather still have Vince Biegel... Ted Ginn should've been released two years ago and a more reliable speed flanker should've been acquired in his salary slot; the man is a over-the-hill and a no-show everytime the bell sounds... Despite lop-sided officiating, it was better than previous weeks and we played well enough to overcome it; but not by much... Welcome Back, Lattimore! Though I think Cooper is over-rated, Lattimore manned-up, took Cooper away, and the other kids were forced to beat us, and it didn't happen... Zeke Elliot, arguably the best RB in the league not named Alvin Kamara had 35 RuYds, 60 TotYds; not a bad Defensive effort; we now have a Top Five Defense, and didn't give up the big pass play in the end... Imagine That... |

Chris Collinsworth needs to be b*tch-slapped, jack*ss drones worse than an old record skipping on a Victrola... Strief is good; Love Deuce, but it's just not there as a commentator... Miss the days of Jim Henderson and Archie Manning/Hokie Gajan - they were to Saints announcing what Brees is to Saints Quarterbacking... |

When the booth calls a review inside 2 minutes on a play where the clock was running, there is supposed to be a 10 second runoff.

Re: Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
What. A. Win!
1. This win might be even sweeter than the one against the Seahawks. i can't stand neither team. 2. Vonn Bell has really hit a stride, 3 turnovers in 2 weeks i huge for us. The first penalty for roughing the passer I feel was a little ticky-tacky. 7 tackles, 3 assisted, 1 FF, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 pass defensed. This might have been his best game so far. 3. Our D held the reigning NFL rushing champ to 35 yds on 18 carries for a great average of 1.9 yds/carry. #nonfactor 4. Penalties, penalties, penalties, just too many of them. The number 9 should be halved atleast. The holdings are what irks me the most but they mostly come because the Cowboys have a stout DL. 5. Speaking of D-lines, our is becoming a real strength, not a lot of knockdowns or sacks but Dak didn't look comfortable at any time tonight. Elliot got hit at the LOS on most every play. Great job. 6. Lutz is money. Harris is a weapon and Morstead is a pro's pro. We finally have a very solid ST unit. 7. Finally a Murray sighting again. Only five touches but good to see him out there. If I'm correct two of his carries went for first downs. 8. Five sacks given up today by the O-line. I blame TB for some of them, he needs a little better pocket awareness and just throw it away. 9. As a whole TB did exactly what he is supposed to; he didn't lose the game. Again a completion percentage above 75%, making the safe throws. I ain't gonna blame him for the INT because that should be a catch. I think it rattled him a little thou because he looked better before it. 10. Michael Thomas is a quiet beast. ) more catches and another 95 yards. Still it feels almost like an off night for him. That's how good he is. Hill is the best TE on our roster right now. He might not be so all season long but right now he is. |

This was the Saints' defense's debutante ball or coming out party, on national TV in prime time. Now everybody saw it, no one can deny it, and the Saints' defense is for real. Don't underestimate this win. The D put the league on notice.

If I'm in the front office ... he will be a priority on the back end to re sign in New Orleans. Vonn improved from year to year and is consistent. Guess those scouts/coaches knew what they were doing all along to go up and get him in the draft from a few years ago. |

Re: Observations from the Saints Clutch Win Against the CowBoys
-Big win. Statement win.
-Teddy looks good and comfortable. -The defense is playing with great level effort. Hitting and swarming. Bordering on flying around like a bunch of crazed dogs. -Brown was a great FA signing. Huge in the middle. -Davis impacts the defense like Brees impacts the offense. -Harris had a hand in two of the field goals. One on special teams and one on offense. -A Cook and Murray sighting. -Thomas and Kamara shine even without gaudy stats. -Davenport's game has taken a step forward this season. -Lutz and Morstead are simply the best. -The OL, with the exception of Ram, got individually whipped a few times last night. -The officiating makes all games hard to watch. -Since the beginning of instant replay, the officials have refused to overturn a call on the field even when THERE IS clear evidence to the contrary. The point of instant replay is to get the call correct. What it was called on the field should have NO bearing. The Zeke fumble was not a fumble. Glad it went the Saints way, but more often than not it won't. Just get the call correct. -I didn't like Payton calling two timeouts when leading and the Cowboys looked content on going to the half. It worked out in his favor thanks to the ref's, but he has had that not work for him on multiple occasions in the past. -Humphrey was targeted one time and Carr not at all. That situation has to improve. -I was completely wrong about the outcome of the game and the performance of the Saints last night. They showed up and balled. |

Well, not to be Debbie Downer, but the Bucs are coming to town and Bruce Arians' offense just hung 48 pts on the Rams despite Jameis Winston, cross-country in the Ram's house (Suh added a FumRecTD)...
Great, win vs a hated rival - now let's all go do work now that we know our defense has raised the bar and we can close out on defense... |

Special teams weapons...
Assumption College alum Deonte Harris is tearing it up thus far. Gave our offense a short field last night. He's averaging 25 yards per return on kick offs and 13 yards per punt return. Thomas Morestead and Deonte' Harris have been great thus far. https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/stats?...gory=RETURNING |

I'm still surprised. Kind of like the day after we won the Super bowl.
