No disrespect intended but those stats are incorrect for weeks 12-17. Drew didn't even play in week 17 so he would have been 4-1 and 107 for 155 with 7 TD's vs 4 INTs. Also, people want to talk about the QB decline but who were the healthy receivers down the stretch last year? Can't place it all on the QB.

Those last 5 games for Brees of 2018 had all to do with injuries on the line (Armstead primarily and Unger being so terrible that he decided to retire), receiver play being unacceptable outside of Thomas and the inability to run the ball like we had up until that point (again, the line was putrid). And what happened when Armstead came back against Pittsburgh? The offense and Brees looked a whole lot closer to those first 11 games than the terrible 4 game stretch when he was out. Brees is fine, we won't see a decline for at least 2 more years. We saw how great he was in the first game of the season, throwing for nearly 400 yards after a really slow start to the game. |
