Buccaneers OL Alex Cappa breaks arm vs. Saints, plays through rest of game

Get well soon!

Sometimes NFL players decide to play through pain.

But what Tampa Bay Buccaneers right guard Alex Cappa did Sunday in a 31-24 loss against the New Orleans Saints was remarkable.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told reporters on Monday that Cappa suffered a broken left arm but did not miss a snap after sustaining the injury in the second quarter.

Heartwarming story. Almost as heartwarming as crawling out of a flipped over MRAP hit by an IED with 3 broken ribs, crushed clavicle and an arm broken completely in half.If someone punches him in the face for crying about it I might have some empathy.

So if your arm is broken you can handle Rankins/Brown/Onymata with one arm and one hand for 2+ Qtrs.

Nah. We saw with our own eyeballs how possible that is.

I wonder if they use the word broken when it really should be fractured?

It was probably the least painful thing on his body. I mean, if you play in the NFL, you are a tough guy. Even if you wear big sun hats and scarfs around your head and neck. :)

Well fracture then. There is quite a difference between the two in regards to playing with it.

I thought the same thing. I finished my rugby match with a broken arm and it hurt so much I finally left the social to go get x-rays. I wound up cutting off the cast three weeks later because my team needed me to play when a couple of our players went down. So, yes it can be done if you've got a high tolerance for pain.

You beast!!

I once tore ligaments in my shoulder and hid it from my Coach, as it was the last 2 games I'd ever play at the under 18 level and I wanted to savour the moments with team.

Very first play the next game after the injury, the FB came clear through the line and I was playing FS. I stopped him but couldn't feel my arm for about 2-3 minutes after lol
