Re: How did the Saints shut down Jacksonville's offense? With a little something unexpected
The coverage and the pass rush (more containment, like a vise) was near flawless yesterday with the exception of one drive, and the defense rallied in the redzone even then...

This is where Lattimore shines, zone not so much.

I was really amazed at the discipline of our pass 'rush', since we were clearly most interested in boxing in the QB. We had a brilliant game plan.

Re: How did the Saints shut down Jacksonville's offense? With a little something unexpected
If Fournette can't get momentum he can easily be stuffed. No juke moves, can't get small. A hand on him withing a few yards and it's over. If he gets through though look out. He is trucking over somebody
We never let him break ground. He is getting more passes but it's not his thing. Looks forced and slows him down. Jags don't know how to use him basically. They need to use another RB to feather off him but they won't because they are stupid. |

Re: How did the Saints shut down Jacksonville's offense? With a little something unexpected
Early on I was worried about the lack of a pass rush when it was one on one across the line. When I realized they were playing in contain I understood the game plan was designed beautifully to take out Mustache man. Kudos to our corners playing man most of the day. PJ Williams had a career day.

Another good game plan. I wonder what they'll use this week? Especially with PJ suspended for 2 games
