None of those names rhyme with the word wide receiver though ...

I don’t know who TE Brian Parker is. Would’ve liked to see us just promote Dan Arnold.

Re: Saints Sign RB Zach Zenner

I remember when Julius Jones came in as running back, when we temporarily lost both Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush for a time in 2010.

The Saints would do this hilarious thing, where they'd be in the huddle, and Drew would give the offense the play. And then they'd clap hands and break the huddle; then Drew would cup his hand to Julius's helmet earhole, and tell him a second time in plain English what the play was, he'd point on the field to where Julius was supposed to line up, show him where to get into his stance, etc. I wonder if Teddy can handle that same responsibility, if Zach needs any playing time, LOL. It was transparently obvious what Drew was doing, so funny to watch. But not fun, when we got into the playoffs and didn't have any running backs, if you know what I mean.

Zenner is super intelligent. Believe he went to medical school. He's also a strong RB if not for the injuries. It's a great pick up considering the circumstances. Likely won't need him but if we do better to have someone with a strong IQ who can pick up things fast.

I know Dwayne Washington isn't liking this ....

IIRC, Zenner took his job while they both were playing for the Lions.

Good depth is key.

Why would it bother him. Everyone has taken his job. Probably very use to it.

There are few guaranteed spots at any position. Being 3rd on the depth chart doesn't mean you are "safe". Good thing Washington is versatile and is a special teams demon. Good players get cut weekly at this level.

Zenner was such a gamer back in his college days (I know from living in South Dakota). I'm not sure if the Lions ever used him right, so there is some upside. Nice pickup.

Chris, I would love that too. But he really needs a good year-plus to get some tree trunks on him...

He was so underweight at the position; but I guarantee you this young man has the moxie not only to get where he needs to be, but be damn good...

When he came out of college, he said there was always one place he wanted to play and one quarterback he wanted to catch...

Let them develop him right, he'll make us proud...

In the playoff where he had 2 scores and we couldn't stop the one-legged 40 year old QB? And they were 7-9 and still hosted? Bad memories

We let go the second coming of a leshaun McCoy walk and now we’re pickin up scrubs . Rb scrubs at that when we need wr help . Smith still not practicing . Hopefully we have something planned for LJH in Chicago some kind of break out party

He's been a healthy inactive for 5 straight weeks out in Jacksonville & currently 4th on the depth chart. I could see if he was tearing it up but this guy has yet to carry a football on Sundays. Same goes for the Boston Scott hype train who is also 4th on the depth chart in Philly.

There is a reason these guys went so low in the draft.

Pierre Thomas's of the world are extremely rare.

True but he wouldn’t have carried it here either. Zenner will be here a week or 2 not a big deal, but we’re stacked at undrafted wrs . Why not carry a couple backs . Now we pick up zenner cross our fingers he doesn’t see the field . Which would only mean injuries have depleated this team

Re: Saints Sign RB Zach Zenner

Zenner is a good RB. Verdict is he's not a scrub just plagued with injuries.

Basically a dirt cheap option we can use and toss. Maybe that has something to do with it? Keeping our options open in case we need coin to make a move before the trade deadline.

Kenyan Drake, chatter is Miami is entertaining offers. Drake could be a starter on most teams.

Zenner will absolutely see the field if Kamara doesn't dress. I would also expect him to get touches even if Kamara is active. Payton said as much in his post practice presser just now.

Read thru the post I said if he sees the field means we are injury depleted right AG
