Scoring Defense

The Saints currently sit at 15th in scoring defense with 147 points. A sizable chuck of that (35 points to be exact) came in garbage time against Seattle and Chicago. Without that we would be tied for 5th with 112 points allowed.

Considering that we have done that against 5 of the top 10 scoring offenses, one could easily make the case that the Saints have the NFL's best defense. New England currently sits in first place but five of the six games were against bottom 10 scoring offenses. The exception is the Giants who sit at 21st.

Saints are making gobs of ST mistakes which is also considered defense IMO. Gave up two scores because of it but they are still good, certainly top 5. Trying to run on them is futile and passing on them is getting harder by the week.
