Re: Kenyan Drake
After watching Murray beat the Bears defense senseless, I'm convinced he's a stud and we'd be moronic to get rid of him. I think Bridgewater has done an exceptional job filling in for Brees, but it wasn't until last week where he really looked like he was starting to pick apart the defense. This was because of Murray. Murray is much better at setting up the play action and we need to really give him the ball much more. That is the one thing we failed at in the first third of the season. Hopefully we realize now that we need to change the way we approach our RB situation after last week. I love Kamara, but he can't cause defenses to stack the box in the same way that Murray can.

Yes. With Murray establishing himself last week, we now need to take a bit of pressure off Kamara and go with a true Thunder and Lightning approach. Hit people like a hammer, god damn.

Re: Kenyan Drake
This would be for depth. Drake is a very good pass catching RB. Nobody said anything about ditching Murray. It would also be dirt cheap. I'm hearing a late round pick.
I didn't like the Murray move from the start but that is life. It didn't save us enough money to matter but Payton didn't know that at the time so no big deal. It was a good move in that context. |

Re: Kenyan Drake
Again though it's given draft picks away for a player that's a FA come the end of the season. The only advantage is losing him for a comp pick if he got a good deal elsewhere. With (soon to be) so many players on big contracts or upcoming FA can't be throwing away Draft capital

Re: Kenyan Drake
The RB pool is so thin right now. We almost had a scare ourselves. I say get him for depth. He's a good RB but never had a chance in Miami. Behind our OL and with Brees, if we needed him he's totally kill it.

Re: Kenyan Drake
Word is Arizona. Good for him. He's actually a good guy. He's not David Johnson but he should do ok over there with his pass catching skills.
