Drew, Payton, team doctors, Dr. Shin (the hand sepcialist) - They all KNOW things. Drew taking the field on Sunday is based on what they KNOW.

We as fans - Know sh1t on a good day. We are wanting Drew on the bench because of emotional fear, fantasy football needs, interest in other players... a bunch of personally driven motivations.

Drew's hand injury is a ligament, not a muscle or tendon. Ligament attaches bone to bone not muscle and healing/fully healed is different than a muscular injury. There is no strengthening, its a reattachment and healing. I assume Doctors say healing is done.

Now for my Right Brained emotional concern... Is fu34ing Andrus Damn Peat ready for Drew to be back behind him ?
That's EXACTLY the points I have been trying to make. I have pointed out that the doctors KNOW when the healing is finished and they KNOW that when Brees is ready there is no reason to keep him out.

You and Oak are both using the same faulty logic to argue your points. It's true that the doctors know MORE about what's going on than we do, as fans, but first of all, doctors make mistakes, and secondly, it is NOT "necessarily" true that IF they let him play this week he is therefore fully healed.

There have been countless instances in the history of sports injuries where a guy was given "a go" to play, because the player really wanted to come back, and the doctors thought he was far enough along that it wasn't a big risk... Only for a major setback to occur, anyway.

if this were the playoffs, the risk might be worth it. Instead, it's Arizona, and there is a bye week immediately following. Yes the Cardinals have won three straight, but no, they haven't beaten a team who is close to being good. The Saints seem to be doing just fine for the time being, without Drew.

I will say yet again that I have no idea what percentage Drew is at in his healing process. I'm merely stating that I would HOPE that IF if isn't fully healthy, they wouldn't bring him back needlessly. That opinion is 100% derived from the bad decisions I have seen teams make in the past. All we will know as fans is that Drew will either play, or he won't. We won't know how healthy he is, and no one is going to tell us. That's why we have opinions. No one is trying to state fact, except you.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Agree. Treat it like a preseason game. Let TB do the heavy lifting and bring Brees in for a series or two to warm him up for the post bye home stretch.

And if they play Teddy and we lose? And we lose the homefield advantage? And we lose on the road in the NFCCG?

Give me Brees.

And if Brees plays and the Saints lose? Then what? Is a Brees a better QB than Teddy? Yeah. Is Drew unbeatable? No. Are the Saints undefeated without Drew? Yes. Do I have confidence that the Saints can beat the Cardinals without the guy who has been sitting for over a month? Yes. Why don't you?

I have confidence that a 75% Brees is far better than a 100% Bridgewater. I have seen Teddy do just enough to keep us up there with the overwhelming help of special teams and defense. Do I have confidence that he can win a game on his own over what Brees can do now ... no.

But what either of us thinks matters not. The front office will make that call.

75% Brees in his prime, maybe. Not now. You're just throwing junk at the wall with that statement.

I'm not arguing that Teddy has been just good enough at times, but he's also looked pretty good at others. The defense has been the main difference, I agree, and they are about to face an underwhelming offense. The Saints did, however, just put up over 400 yards and 36 points on a top 5 defense, and we both know the Saints left more points out there. It'll be fine.
