Observations from the Saints Win Against the Cardinals

Yet another great team win.

Brees is back and looked great.

Defense continues to shine and impress.

Murray is starting to get more involved... he's a beast.

We're 7 - 1, Who Dats !

Bye week incoming... time to get Kamara healthy.

Taysom is that missing piece on offense. Give him a more permanent role in the receiving game now that Brees is healthy and we know what Teddy can do.

Drew played well.

Our o-line is elite.

We do not suck.

After a shaky start to the season, the offensive line has found its footing and is back to being among the best in the league.

Brees as good as ever. His superior command of the offense masks our deficiency at WR outside of MT.

Speaking of Thomas, he's the best receiver in the league. Made yet another top tier CB look silly today.

Defense just keeps getting better.

CGJ gets better with each game.

Refs still trying to screw us any chance they get.

7-1.

Nothing else to say. :-)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I did not hear over and over again, again.

Great win. We are going to be a wrecking ball of destruction when Cook and Kamara come back.

Exactly! This is so important! We get Taysom back along with Brees back as a HUGE part of the offense. That's why we needed Brees back. We get two impact players at the same time.

I didn't get to watch the game, but the box score is a thing of beauty. Held the Cardinals to 40 yards rushing and really I saw it was much lower than that until the game was put away. Keep up that production vs the run and we could pull a Guido and get to 15-1.

Some nit picky, some praise, some neutral observations.

- We need to start the first half as we do the second half. We presently hold the streak record in the NFL for first possessions without a TD at 14. This is always a scripted drive. We are slow starting on offense.

- Drew played like he wasn't gone.

- All debate and opinions aside, while Drew was out, Teddy Bridgwater did exactly what he was signed and paid to do and he gets a hats off from me for that accomplishment. There are few starters and very few back ups that could have maintained the way he did.

- Luts's head isnt clear.

- Defense,We have one. A damn good one.

I have a gut feeling that once Kamara and Cook are back and we get Hill and Harrison regular focus in our offense, we are going to be wicked explosive.

It is a good day to be a Saints fan:bng:

Barring a crazy comeback by the Panthers here in the next hour, the rest of the division also lost. Really good day.

I am going to be lazy and not look but I bet I can find that same exact statement with either Chicago or the Bears in it maybe a dozen times.

Chauncey Gardner Johnson has a nose for the ball. Cornerback speed and linebacker mentality. His angles are nice ... high IQ.

I think he's gonna be special. I see signs.

Wait until he masters the defensive scheme.

Re: Observations from the Saints Win Against the Cardinals

For the second week in a row, only the Saints stopped the Saints. When they were stopped at all.

Drew was mostly a game manager in the first half, and he managed the last possession before the half rather poorly.

Drew looked like Drew in the second half, and the Saints stopped screwing themselves over.

Ingram is clearly not missed anymore, if he ever was. Murray looks like a better all-around player than he has ever been, and is easily replacing Ingram's production, now that he's getting a chance.

Defense was very disciplined and made Kyler Murray beat them with his arm, which he was clearly not ready to do.

Shy Tuttle looks like a real player. He seems to be in the backfield a lot when he comes in, and he moves well for such a big man.

Re: Observations from the Saints Win Against the Cardinals

- Brees is just different level great.
- Taysom is the MVP of this team. QB. RB. TE. WR. Special teams. Difference maker.
- Murray stepped up like the man he is.
- Can't guard Mike. There were actually times today when he wasn't guarded. WTH?
- OL is the best in the NFL.
- Gardner Johnson is the truth.
- Loved the lack of penalties.

- Lutz needs to hit the reset button before this gets out of hand.

Re: Observations from the Saints Win Against the Cardinals

1. Cam was blowing by the RT like he was moving through a turnstile most of the game. I'm surprised they didn't bring in a back or TE to chip.
2. I'm a little surprised also that they didn't do more designed QB runs ( I only saw one) especially since they couldn't run the ball traditionally.
3. Our B TE's had a good day. Josh has become a pretty solid receiver.
4. Murray is proving an upgrade over Ingram. I love him as a RB, and dump off or screen pass catcher, but I'm not sure if he needs to be running more complicated WR routes.
5. Nice seeing Taysom getting more action, definitely our X factor.

We won 31-9 and left at least 10 to 14 points on the field.

Loved the CGJ pick in the 4th. Dude is a baller. He and McCoy were brilliant picks. Both are contributing at a very high level as rookies. Sky is the limit for both.
